That is NOT what I said. What I said was, if specific jobs require them to be lacking in parenting skills because they are too tired, busy or absent...then NO they are not capable of handing a child correctly.
Your direction of this thread was that parents who work hard long hours should not be penalized for slacking off on parenting. My response is that they are just as accountable as any other parent.

You're not reading to the words I am writing. You are incapable of realistic discussion. You are part of the problem. You need to be terminated.

    Bwahahahahahaha!

This discussion is probably over. You are without a human soul.
It is called reality and responsibility. Something that is sorely missing in your perspective.

I do it all the time. My job requires me to force parents to uphold their parenting responsibilities regardless of their income level. There simply is no excuse for poor parenting. If you have the kids, you have to answer to reality.

at what cost to the parents when you are 70 and wished you'd started a family but didn't have the money? Kids are tough. They can survive more than we give them credit for.

Geez, its not always about the children, sometimes its about being a human being.
So then you think we have children simply to have caretakers when we are old? What a bleak outlook. Espec. for your children.

I think it's more a matter that there's pretty much no excuse for your parents.

Not caretakers. How about not wanting to be alone or knowing some part of you will go on to the next generation?

wow you really are a droid haha
  • Here is something to consider as well. In previous generations (perfect example being the depression era), many folks were dirt poor. Yet they managed to provide stable home environments for their children. What was the difference between now and then? The focus was on family life. Everyone was held accountable to their roles in that dynamic. That is why it succeeded. Today, we have far too many "wants" instead of needs. Too many parents today have pushed aside the family first ideology for the me first ideology.

So then again, you are putting your wants before the needs of your child. How is that fair?

But, in your job, you don't address that, do you? I'll bet a million dollars.

You would bet wrong. Poverty is not an excuse to neglect children. It never is accepted. And believe me, it is tried a lot!

Focusing on priorities is also addressed each and every case. This is spelled out in specifics such as "you cannot leave your kids home alone to go to the bar on ladies night", "you should buy groceries before you buy your bling", "don't leave the kids with your neighbor who is a known meth dealer", "choosing the less expensive plain car is much more realistic than the high end one", "bathe your kids regularly", "do the homework with them, don't expect them to do it alone", "limit tv and computer time", "support the school when they discipline your childs inappropriate behavior"etc.

I guess i would just be a cold hearted selfish bastard for bringing the kid into the world and hoping for a phone call when I'm old.

Does this compute or should i type it out in binary? I know the X43LM series of droid had a problem with language comprehension.

I don't know what the fuck your job is, but it isn't needed here. Just be yourself and you might communicate a lot better.

Just the fact that you're using families who have met misfortune to further whatever your politics is enough to warrant my disrespect. I've tried to be personable, I've tried to be emotional, I've tried to be as friendly as this writing on the internet allows yet you continue this politicking with what must be very unfortunate and private circumstances of the families you encounter. You give them no dignity here in your efforts, and you should be ashamed that you waste your energies in trying to supplicate your psyche that way in a public forum aside the manner that which you are actually employed. I think you're a twisted fuck up.

And you should leave this place. You don't have a place here. To me, you're an illiterate.

    Wait!

No, there are others here with which you can frolic.

  • Lol, I love this headline :D

It's like the music he listened to is more headline worthy than the... eh... 'shooter' part of it

what if the next school shooter (cos there WILL be one) worships Pearl Jam? Will that prove some kinda point? What about all the ones whose musical interests we're not familiar with... should we assume that they DIDN'T listen to Marilyn Manson?

CLEVELAND - A high school student said Thursday that he and classmates had warned their principal about threats by a classmate who shot and wounded four people before killing himself, and believed the attack could have been prevented. The student, Rasheem Smith, said on CBS’ “Early Show” that despite their warnings about the student who opened fire Wednesday, Asa H. Coon, principal Johneita Durant told them she was too busy. Smith said that the shooting may have been prevented, and that it was known Coon had a gun. “He was talking about doing it last week,” he said. Armed with two revolvers, Coon opened fire at the alternative school, wounding two students and two teachers. He had a history of mental problems and was known for cursing at teachers and bickering with students.

Police found a duffel bag stocked with ammunition and three knives in a bathroom, but no suicide note, Police Chief Michael McGrath said. Police believe Coon, wearing a Marilyn Manson shirt, black jeans and black nail polish, targeted the two teachers he shot Wednesday.Coon’s troubles seemed to come to a breaking point this week. Students said Monday’s fight was over God — Coon told his classmates he didn’t believe in God and instead worshipped rocker Marilyn Manson.

let this be a lesson to the christians... quit preaching that god shit and ramming it down people's throats lest you get fucking shot!

So you don't even consider the concept that it isn't fair to the potential children?

People choose not to have children for a plethora of feasible reasons. Why shouldn't finances be one of them?

In my opinion, if you cannot make enough money to provide for your family wihtout having to skimp on quality time together or involved parenting, you should not have them.

***Please note that this does not factor into the scenerio where unforseen lifestyle changes enter in. Such as major disease, death of a mate or unwanted divorce etc.***

    Someone has to be responsible.

good point. having children should be a privilege reserved for the independently wealthy. those dirty poor people need to stop breeding.
