Well that is a totally depressing scenario. I have a 2.5 year-old and my wife is two days overdue with our second and I'm supposed to be hosting this thing tonight... I'm obviously overextended but thought I could fit in. My mom is coming into town to watch our kid otherwise I'd be in your same boat on this subject as well... well I hope the package comes in the mail today and you can put on the t-shirt throw the DVD in and dance with your kid in the comfort of your own home at least... Trying to be optimistic.
as of right now only 18 people have posted locations. i didn't expect all 50 winners to be pit members but i would have expected at least 35-40. Where are all the other winners???

i didn't. i expected, at most, 25 to post...so 18 is pretty damn good. it's pretty obvious to me that there are a LOT more pj fans who check in with pearljam.com than actually read and post on this board. also, there was no requirements that your party had to be open to the public, at all...so there could be quite a few that are small, low-key affairs....invited guests only. if there are 50 winners thru 10c (60 discs in total according to the filmmakers, guess they distributed the other 10 at will) that means many don't post here and/or want to keep it private. who knows? i mean, even in my area...there is a big, public party in NYC....and then my small hosting in my home. obviously, a LOT more people will be in for the city gig. and so it goes. if i get 10-12 people in, i'll be psyched! the LR will be a bit squishy, but i think it'll be a blast!
i hope all receive the packages today...such a shame not all received yet. :(

Yea I hope I get the package soon. It would be cool. I'm going to throw on my own VFC t-shirt that I got in DC when I attended the show in 2004. I also have the poster too bc I was pretty into collecting them. Dunno if the t-shirt and poster were supposed to be different for this one or not. Oh well... I'm more excited to get out and vote Tues than about this party anymore. I've learned that most people let you down and you shouldn't expect anything. That way you can't be disappointed.
That's a cynical viewpoint, but sadly, it's all too true of the 10 Club the last few years.
Ok, everyone now needs to say something nice! I'm really psyched about the election tomorrow as well, and I'm going to have a new member of my family enter the world as well, so that is pretty cool! Everything doesn't always have to turn out I guess.

I pretty much agree with you but apparently the contest screeners didn't have that stipulation for why they accepted people so I guess we shouldn't take exception to the way they handed out their products... I looked at it in more of a public service way myself which is why I got a 180 capacity theater for tonight so anyone can come.

i am worried no one is showing up on long island.....:o
i AM really surprised that BOTH a NYC and a long island entry got picked. if it were just one or the other, than all the same people would make it. given both chosen, for most, hitting up the city is the easiest. doesn't seem many long islanders were/are interested in a hometown screening, some simply can't make it - illness, babysitters, etc - and perhaps others rather the big city screening. i only put in my entry so our area would have a screening possibility b/c at the time, seemed no one else entered. now, i just feel a bit bad that i got a DVD and i want to share a screening. so i hope at least a few of you manage to make it over, otherwise it'll simply be the dream family cuddled around the digital hearth and waching.......:p

since mine is in my LR, didn't want to 'advertize'...hahaha......just here, amongst friends. as i said, it's mostly b/c it's a weeknight AND there is a seperate NYC gathering. hell, i am in the city right now, i work here...if i wasn't hosting my own, i'd be at the NYC gthering myself. normally we are a pretty big group, and sure are to be....in NYC. and hey, i hope there's a GREAT turn-out in the city b/c i know they are doing fundraising and all. i just feel a wee bit guilty having a DVD if there's not much of a screening....eh well, it WILL be cozy!
Well, it's been a roller coaster, but I finally got my package, just 3 and a half hours before I am showing it. I guess they wanted to add a little suspense for a late Halloween...?

SWEET Bistro won the contest for Memphis. Come party with us at 938 South Cooper (Cooper/Young area)for a screening of the film this Friday, November 7th beginning at 9 pm at the restaurant.
