I've read all about those black panther fucks intimidating people at the polls, and you think skinheads are non-existent? all I can say is that Obama better have him a pretty good-sized entourage put together. he's gonna need all the protection he can get, sad to say. but that is besides the point. the people who continue to sit on their asses and not work in this country will continue to draw checks from people like me and I'm sure many of you on this board who try to make an honest living and not have almost half of it taken away. if you thought it was bad before, you have no idea what's coming. how is the working-class not freaking out about this? but hey, obviously there is nothing I can say to convince you otherwise, and there is nothing you can say to convince me otherwise. let's all just sit back and watch what happens. it's gonna be a freakshow, at OUR expense.

We have went from one extreme to another.....great job. I guess we can have anything in the middle? So now after 8 years of the far right, we will get 4 to 8 years of the far left, and nothing to show for it in the end. What pisses me off more then anything is the extreme imbalance of power in the Senate and the House. Does anyone think giving any party this much control is a good idea?

I didn't make a threat of any kind. I hope for the man's own sake that he will be well-protected. I just stated how the world really still is. deal with it.

Your 8 years of Bushboy has came back and bit you in the asshole. I love it baby, suck on that pal.
  • Some beginning answers to the original poster's questions.

Obama has already done a great deal to prevent terrorist attacks and to dictate the response the world will generate toward any future attacks against our nation. Why is this? Well, the American dream and ideals have been personified once more to the rest of the world. Entire continents are looking much more favorably at America today and many areas around the world can draw stark distinctions between the areas they live in and the reality America has just presented. Obama's election alters the way millions (if not billions) of people perceive America. This changed perception does a great deal to thwart hostile acts toward America and it also works to unify a world response against anyone who would dare endanger it or attempt to snuff its light out. This changing perception is more valuable than just about any smart bomb, occupying presence or threat.

Obama has also sparked a great deal of hope both nationally and abroad. I believe even you can admit, despite your personal despair, that this would not be the case had McCain won the election.

So if, as you claim, America is struck again by terrorists... we will likely have rebuilt alliances, rebuilt international will, rebuilt faith in our ideals, and trust in our leadership when military response is deemed necessary. A great deal of skepticism has been lifted off of our nation today. Not all of it. I agree that Obama has to prove himself, but internationally there is at least a hope and perception that he just may. That is not the case with McCain and Palin. You, as an American, may have faith in McCain/Palin's competency, but the rest of the world did not. I don't want to sit here writing essays, but hopefully I gave you just a little something to reflect on and give consideration to.

Donald Rumsfeld is giving the president his daily briefing. He concludes by saying: "Yesterday, 3 Brazilian soldiers were killed."

"OH NO!" the President exclaims. "That's terrible!"

His staff sits stunned at this display of emotion, nervously watching as the President sits, head in hands.

Finally, the President looks up and asks, "How many is a brazillion?"

I ask you, Will Obama get a 4 year extension like Bush did. Bush was the worst president for national security in the history of the US. He couldn't protect us. 9/11 happened on his watch. His reward? 4 more years. WHEN (as you so eloquently put it) we get attacked again, I expect it will only strengthen Obama's bid in 2012.
