Anybody else receive a hawaii CCFA that has a ton of white spot defect on them? My copy looks like crap but I refuse to return it. What is it with hawaii and white spot defects? Most of the maui 98's have them as well. I have a maui 98 with no white spots though
Now thats a must have poster.

bostonlou,
the process of creatiing art for a poster can involve any number of techniques and/or media. for my artwork, I'm usually drawing it out in fine point marker or painting on canvas. for the Newcastle poster, I started with a painting I had created a couple years ago, took a digi pic and brought that pic into Adobe Illustrator. once in Illustrator I re-drew the image and mixed it up a bit to accomodate the text that is in the cloud and in the wave. every artist has their "process" for getting art print ready, plus it all depends what media you're using in the first place. I have found Illustrator a fine tool in bringing my fine art to a place where it is print ready because you can work in layers and make your separations in it. Illustrator to me is just like any other medium, a pencil, pen, paint brush, etc.
my name is Lee, you found me out!!0 -

thanks for the info... i didn't think you were undercover which is why i used your name... hopefully you don't use snowrider04 as your screenname when hunting for an appearance on dateline nbc to catch a predator
so adobe Illustrator ... and do you use a mouse or a pen like device? I also assume you've got a pretty powerful PC/Mac? whenever I try to create a bostonlou masterpiece in artpad I get bogged down with the more features I add
i downloaded the free image software GIMP and that talks a lot about layers ... guess i'll have to read up on that
thanks for taking the time to shareDon't Believe Everything You Think0 -

Qball wrote:No I was talking about the CCFA poster. My hawaii silkscreening process is terrible. I still love this print though but I might not frame this copy if I can avoid it.
What's wrong with it?0 -
yeah, I'm a Mac guy from waaay back, probably from the Photoshop 1.0 days. I don't think I've even heard of artpad, must be a PC app. I'm on a G5 mac with maxed out ram and a big-a$$ hard drive. definitely helps to have as much power as you can get, especially when you're dealing with high res art files.0

hey lee, love the buddha and parachutes prints in full size, better than i expected!0

That's not white-spot defect....that's actually how it is SUPPOSED to be. It's part of the design...so don't fret....they're all like that.******************************
Maybe all I need is a shot in the arm....0 -

artpad is barely a software
it's a website where you can doodle... it's like microsoft paint but online
there's some examples in this thread
http://forums.pearljam.com/showthread.php?t=201145&highlight=artpad
but i'm not sure if they are still up... as my work has blocked me from the site
anyone - when you click on the links do they work??

I think people are unhappy with the white spots, especially in the lower left hand corner. Though its part of the design Im guessing, I dont mind it but I have heard this from a few people...10.31.93 / 10.1.94 / 6.24.95 / 11.4.95 / 10.19-20.96 / 7.16.98 / 7.21.98 / 10.31.00 /8.4.01 Nader Rally/ 10.21.01 / 12.8-9.02 / 6.01.03 / 9.1.05 / 7.15-16,18.06 / 7.20.06 / 7.22-23.06 / Lolla 070 -
