what do you consider the holy grail for your collection
or what is considered the holy grail by most serious collectors out there.

Probably Istabul 96 is the Holy Grail, although Easy Street 05 goes pretty high in terms of price. Some might argue a Charlotte 96 because of the Emek design. Camaro's Hood pointed out Prague/Budapest 96 the other day. The Neil Young poster from 93 goes for a pretty steep price because there are so few out there.

    in terms of my collection:
Probably the Yield Firehouse Virgin Megastore diddy.

The metallic paint is all sparkly, it looks really groovey.

i think that we will let this one ride.

Perhaps there will be a general, dedicated forum under the Pit for "Posters" in the near future- then our thread will be obsolete.

  • Of the posters in my collection, my toppers have to be Toronto (Barrie) / Montreal 98 and Klausen's Toronto 2.

On another curiosity tangent, anyone collect stuff for any other bands? Or just strictly PJ? And what drives your collecting? The images/artistry? Shows you've been to? An investment in something that might increase in value?

    (yup, bored at work...)

i've been getting into other stuff ...

slater had a shamrock print for the pogues i picked up... then had a clerks print that was cool ... picked up a couple of others of his since

i do like some of emeks stuff for the detail... but it's so hard to get and amazing how on his nutz everyone is

picked up Goad's Killers print the other day... reminds me of Zoltar in the movie BIG...
    http://www.expressobeans.com/visual/index.php/37823/53811

pulled off a trade for a DMB print... it's the one from Fenway so that's my interest ... kinda nice design with the banners in the back

as for my personal fav's... i like the boston 00 fat guy and the borgata gangster... oh and my Ireland 96 is cool... roughed up but cool

and at some point i'll have to choose between Klausen's LA, Dragons and DC... and Portland is BIG and pretty

    i like em all...

i collect em for the art side... for the shows i've been to side... and for the value side... depends on the print and the day :)

I need the Toronto 98 tractor poster. I love that one. It was the 2nd PJ show I went to, and my car broke down in Niagara Falls on the way to the show and the Canadians kicked ass and fixed my dead car in 30 minutes. Got to the show in time for Cheap Trick and all of Pearl Jam. Kick ass poster, but damn they got for big $$ on Evil Bay.

That's how I snagged mine - evilbay. Think I lucked out though, cause the seller was totally cool, had some delay and packed in an extra poster for me. But it was my second show too, and I had to have the poster for it.
