That's a disgusting thing to say, and it definitely shows how ignorant you are to this whole situation.

you again. I was saying that the truce was nice. truces are nice right? every single reply of yours has included a personal insulting attack towards me.

I'm not trying to attack you, but your posts on this are just really ignorant imo. I don't think anything about that situation could be described as "nice"...and I don't think I have the mental strength to see another Israeli-Palestinian conflict thread to its bitter end again, so I'll peace out for now :p Seriously, I didn't mean to offend ya. I just really hope you can gain a better perspective on this whole thing, and focus on the important aspects of it. I hope everyone can, because that's how it'll get resolved eventually.

yes I know. it was nice wasn't it?
the truce? yeah, till Israel broke it.
unprovoked? according to who. you? according to many sources this was the reason...

Israeli troops crossed into the Gaza Strip late last night near the town of Deir al-Balah. The Israeli military said the target of the raid was a tunnel that they said Hamas was planning to use to capture Israeli soldiers positioned on the border fence 250m away. Four Israeli soldiers were injured in the operation, two moderately and two lightly, the military said.

maybe they shouldnt have dug that tunnel eh?
wow you're so full of it. That tunnel excuse was complete bullshit and was made up AFTER the incursion. Quit trying to excuse everything Israel does as if it's in retaliation. It's bullshit, and you're completely ignorant.
then why shoot them? all they do is give Israel a reason to retaliate
The point is Hamas is the one who RETALIATED. why should Israel do anything to begin with?! Why don't you say "Why does Israel kill Hamas, all they do is give Hamas a reason to retaliate"? Why don't you say anything critical of Israel except when it's asked of you? if you could, you'd blame Hamas for anything. You're an apologist for an oppression and occupation.
you can try I guess but I dont see much good it will do. my point still stands.
Your point stands on a pile of lies.
    yes it was!

Israel has resealed a border crossing with the Gaza Strip that it had temporarily opened to allow in a limited amount of food and fuel.

Israeli officials said they took the step after a rocket was fired at Israel late on Monday.

aid was going through which means it was down. rockets were fired. it was closed. I'm trying to explain this to you in painful detail because you are having a hard time following.
aid was not going through. the bare necessities were going through, and Israel tightened the blockade after an ALLEGED report of a rocket attack. Israel tightened the blockade BEFORE the rocket attacks, and they loosen it every 2 weeks or so for about a day. This has been a common routine, NOT related to the rocket attacks.
as soon as you figure out they are related the better.
you clearly have a problem understanding this situation. I suggest you first begin with learning how to read properly, then perhaps you can actually educate yourself on it.

more personal attacks. cool. it was made up? so there was no tunnel? and why would Israel annouce an incursion before they do it. if there was no tunnel then I stand corrected. but until then, Hamas just gave Israel another excuse to smack the fuck out of them.

stop giving Israel an excuse to cause atrocities. I have yet to see a headline saying..

Israel attacks Gaza for no reason! whether it be rocket attacks or tunnels, there is a reason/excuse.

rockets being launched at Israel is not a lie.

so now its an alleged attack? sigh. every time Israel closes the border, its in response to rocket attacks. a simple google search will prove that. until you can prove otherwise, you are just making shit up as you go along.

more personal attacks. I can read just fine. I have posted several sources backing up what I say. its all out there. you are the one making baseless claims....such as rockets "ALLEGEDLY" fired into Israel last night even though this is what is being reported.....(from the same source you use no less)

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/7747363.stm

The militants said their rocket attacks, which caused minor damage but no serious injuries, were in retaliation for an Israeli army raid into Gaza.

...and how closing the border has NOTHING to do with rockets being fired when it fact it has everything to do with it.

illegitimate excuses. the entire blockade on Gaza has no legitimate excuse.
rockets being launched at Israel is not a lie.
it's irrelevant and a weak distraction.
so now its an alleged attack? sigh. every time Israel closes the border, its in response to rocket attacks.
you're a liar and you have no understanding of this situation. for the millionth fucking time, there is no "EVERY TIME THEY CLOSE THE BORDER", the border is ALWAYS fucking closed. Is Hamas ALWAYS firing rockets? What about the last 5 months? have they been firing rockets every day? And yes, it is alleged. where is the proof? the news sources only report what Israel claims.
The militants said their rocket attacks, which caused minor damage but no serious injuries, were in retaliation for an Israeli army raid into Gaza.
This is the part that should be in bold for you.
...and how closing the border has NOTHING to do with rockets being fired when it fact it has everything to do with it.
No, it doesn't have everything to do with it. Israel closed the border to sanction off Hamas, and not just because of the rocket attacks.
    from the article...

Israel says the tightening of the Gaza blockade is a legitimate response to attacks by Palestinian militants.

    hey Hamas, stop firing rockets!
    explain this:

WHY HAS THE BORDER BEEN BLOCKADED FOR THE PAST 5 MONTHS DURING THE TRUCE WHEN NOT A SINGLE ROCKET WAS FIRED?

hey Israel, stop killing people! stop occupying people! stop oppressing people! stop discriminating against people! stop causing the Palestinians to suffer! stop lying to people!

  • It's a catch 22 and highly circular argument. The "who cast the first stone" argument, and "who is guilty of what" argument.

Two things stand out and cut through the smoke.

One side possesses a racist mindset to the entire world. They think if you're not Jewish you're less of human being than they are point blank. This is quite simply insane and damaged. One side is also stealing land and oppressing millions (all at the same time and at once mind you...compared to a rocket here ...a rocket there), and using the media to play out this type of sickness as normal.

    Therein lies the rub.

I say cut back the borders to an actually viable, fair, and respectable agreement, and then see which side flinches first. Until then...I'll take sides with the underdog getting screwed over beyond comprehension, as the retaliation is nurtured (turned like a screw) in ways that exceed the limits of human emotion (for any human being), in order to justify it. It's sick.

GAZA CITY, Gaza -- Half of Gaza's bakeries have closed down and the other half have resorted to animal feed to produce bread as Israel's complete blockade of the coastal territory enters its 19th day.

U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki Moon alarmed at the escalating humanitarian crisis called incumbent Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert last week and demanded that he lift the blockade.

Following the continued closure, the secretary-general reiterated his appeal on Friday but to no avail.

Karen AbuZayd, commissioner-general for the U.N.'s Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA), which supports Palestinian refugees, warned that a humanitarian "catastrophe" loomed if Israel continued to prevent aid from reaching Gaza.

"It's been closed for so much longer than ever before. We have nothing in our warehouses. It will be a catastrophe if this persists; a disaster," said AbuZayd.

AbuZayd added that the human toll of this month's closure of the territories was "the gravest since the early days of the second intifada or Palestinian uprising.

Tent of expelled Jerusalem Palestinian family torn down

    Wed Nov 19, 1:44 PM

JERUSALEM (AFP) - Israeli security forces on Wednesday tore down a tent in which a Jerusalem Palestinian family had been living since being evicted from their nearby house earlier this month.

The tent housed Fawzia al-Kurd and her ailing husband since their November 9 expulsion from their home of 52 years that had become a symbol of Palestinian resistance against the pressure of Jewish settlers seeking to gain more land in Arab east Jerusalem.

Security forces also tore down two smaller tents set up by supporters. The tents were set up on an empty field just a few hundred metres (yards) from the house in the Sheikh Jarrah neighbourhood.

Two people were detained after scuffles between police and supporters of the Kurd family.

Ir Amim, an Israeli movement devoted to Israeli-Palestinian relations in Jerusalem, denounced the police action.

"This step is intended to silence legitimate protest that arose out of suspicion of the plan to expel local residents in order to establish a new Jewish neighbourhood in the area," said Yudith Oppenheimer, who heads Ir Amim.

The group said police confiscated the contents of the tent which the family had received from neighbours after authorities seized the original belongings of their home and ordered them to pay for the eviction.

It says that Condoleezza Rice earlier 'protested' the eviction. what BS is that?

GAZA CITY (AFP) - Gaza's sole power plant has shut down because Israel will not allow the importation of replacement parts needed for urgent repairs, an official in the impoverished Palestinian territory's energy authority said on Tuesday.

"Despite deliveries of fuel on Monday, the power plant stopped functioning because of breakdowns in the production units," said Kanaan Obeid, assistant director of the authority.

He said the frequent shutdowns of the plant, caused by fuel shortages, damaged parts of the production units that cannot be replaced because of the Israeli blockade of the territory.

Israel "refuses to allow in the necessary parts and the plant cannot restart without them," he said.

The power plant, which supplies about 25 percent of Gaza's energy, has been particularly hard hit by Israel's decision to tighten the blockade since a surge in violence on November 4, causing blackouts in Gaza City.

Israel supplies about 70 percent of Gaza's power and Egypt provides five percent

    The Associated Press

GAZA CITY, Gaza Strip -- The Israeli navy on Monday turned away a Libyan ship heading to Gaza with 3,000 tons of humanitarian aid, ending the most high-profile effort yet to break a blockade of the Hamas-ruled territory

The Al Marwa was approaching the Gaza coast when it was stopped by an Israeli navy vessel. The navy vessel ordered the Libyan ship via radio to turn back, said Israeli Foreign Ministry spokesman Yigal Palmor, adding that no force was used.

In Gaza's small port, spectators, journalists and dozens of porters had assembled to await the arrival of the Libyan ship.

"The Israeli warships are making it difficult for the ship to reach the Gaza coast, in spite of the fact that this is a civilian ship sent to help Palestinians during the siege," the official said.

The Libyan ship was loaded with 3,000 tons of food, powdered milk and blankets. Though the Libyan government hasn't commented, Khoudary said the delivery was organized by the Libyan Foreign Ministry.
