Ok ok ok, I'll give you that, and even though I'm a jew I kind of felt like it brought another piece of closure to the area. I lost my brother down there on that day, any sort of closure is good.

Sorry about your brother 3 input chick :(..

    I so agree.....
    I cant stand him.

As soon as I see he is involved with a situation I automatically go to support the side he is not on and I know I'm not alone in feeling that way. I don't understand why people he attempts to contact dont see it!

    Agreed and agreed..

    I like the NYC cops.....
they could be working in Utah for alot more money, they deal with a ton of mornons, they are constantly being judged for decisions made in very diffficult situations by people who have no clue.

just put on NY1. they showed a crowd that seemed headed on its way to getting out of hand but they seemed to move away from the kew gardens courthouse. they're still awaiting comment from the bell family.

For those in the area, be careful. I would try to stay in this weekend after dark if I were you. This could really get ugly before it's all said and done. I obviously don't know all the specifics but it seems shady that there was no jury involved and the defendants weren't cross examined in court.
I wish I was as fortunate, as fortunate as me.

Man, it's just sad all around - imagine your fiance is shot dead the morning of the wedding no less - then no vindication (not that it would bring him back, but still).......I really feel for the victim's fiance & parents.
    My lips are shaking.......

How well do you know him? I'm curious to know how you know he is a racist. I'm not doubting you at all, I'd just like to get your perspective.

Is anybody actually surprised when Al Sharpton jumps behind a case like this? He's like a one trick pony at this point. Too bad he wasn't at the strip club that night...

I went to school with 31 shots. His sister (only sibling) said something along the lines of when talking about the whole situation “you don’t know these people” When she said “these” she meant black people. Just the whole conversation made me realize very clearly that she and her bro are racist.

the cops had been drinking also, I believe?

I do'nt know I don't think it's as explosive as the Rodney King verdict, maybe it's just me? Not to minimize it or anything. You're not surprised at the acquittal, are you?

there always is allie, there always is.
    I know
    I mean that's it in a nutshell
    it was his wedding day
and the cops were undercover and allegedly drinking
and they 'claimed' they heard the young man say, I think either he had a gun or he told someone to go get a gun or something of that nature

the case was not heard by a jury, it was heard by a judge

there were that many shots fired however

2 of the shooting officers were black as well. That kinda fucked up Al Sharpton. You know he was hoping for 5 white cops when he heard the news. Why don't you tell me if you think 50 shots is overkill when someone is firing at YOU. Or at least you think someone is firing at YOU. And when the perp just tried to run over one of your fellow officers. There is absolutely no time to think, to try and evaluate the situation. Maybe the cops did no wrong, and maybe they did do wrong. But I don't think anyone, myself included, should try to judge them unless they've been in that exact situation

yea but the cops overheard the kids say something and then they were reaching around in the car

im not saying they were right but in a situation like that i can understand a quick trigger finger

again thats alot of shots but when u think you're gonna get run down its not that hard to believe

its hard to say this and that unless you or i were in a similar situation

personally i would hold the trigger till my clip was empty,,then again im not a cop

so you're saying the cops should have huddled up, and discussed whether or not the perps had guns? 9 out of 10 times, they'd all be dead. This si true heat of the moment stuff. You have a millisecond to decide what to do. The wrong decision, and you could end up dead. Ask the families of the 2 undercover cops who got in a car to make a gun deal, and got killed.

they got in a car to make a gun deal? okay that just shows a lack of forethought to begin with.

heat of the moment? did they know the guys had guns? did the guys even have guns? was this a case of pre-emptive striking just in case?

im gonna admit i have a very difficult time dealing with gun culture. i have an even more difficult time with people using supposition to validate their actions.
can someone please tell me about this case?
