Obama's speech in Berlin

I know many of you don't like Obama, and that's fine...but the speech he just gave in Berlin was quite impressive.
Seeing over a hundred thousand people coming together to see an American presidential hopeful give a speech in a foreign city is quite impressive in itself, but to see so many people getting excited about it was really cool and quite the change from what we have seen in a looooong time.

The whole world is looking to the next American president to provide some hope. Our next president will have much to do to restore the world's faith in America.

I believe that Mr. Obama can provide that to us all.

    Crowd estimated at 200,000.

    Wow, what a worthless video.

Anyways, imagine that...trying to have some sort of security over 100,000+.
This is nothing new. Signs and banners in a less than secure environment is something that has been implemented for decades...and now in a time where so many people and so many groups would love to make a statement...I just don't understand why they wouldn't allow backpacks and giant banners (which cause security issues due to blind spots).

I know some of you love the idea that Obama isn't allowing free speech or whatever you think it is...but the fact of the matter is for as many people that are excited about the guy there are tens, if not hundreds of thousands out there would would kill him in a heartbeat just to make a statement for whatever cause they believe in, and to stand up against anything to do with "America".

He can't try to gain support and explain what he'd do to other nations?

Considering how the US has pretty much shit on every other country in the last 8 years, I think talking to people again can be a good thing.

Yeah, he can. But sometimes I think he forgets he's not president yet. And I'm half surprised he didn't say, "I am a donut," since he loves to evoke JFK so much.

At any rate, I don't have a huge problem with this trip. It just seems kind of strange to me.

I see nothing wrong at all with talking to people. And we have been shitting on Europe for more then 8 yrs. I'm not going that way in this chat but I'm just saying. He's doing a great thing by getting out and making nice and saying he's sorry for America's past fuckups.

Its just strange seeing him kinda acting like the president already. Ive said I'm sitting out on this election but who knows. So I'm really watching what the old one and this young one who wanna be the next president are doing. Like the past they say what you wanna hear and all the other bullshit. It's a show and the one with the best special affects gets your vote. Obama just scored with a major location spot for speaking. lol

From the tone of his speech it sounds like he wants to move toward a one-world government. Scary.

This Obama love affair with himself is starting to get scary. I do not know that I've seen someone so enthralled with themself. Standing up for the common man? Yeah right. Obama is and has only been about one thing....becoming President Obama.

I should finish my earlier sentence since the point may have been lost.

I know its been awhile and alot of people have forgotten what a leader looks like, so when they see one, they call that leader narcissistic and "enthralled with themself".

People said the same thing about Clinton, and while not perfect he was by far not the worst president ever.
If Obama scares people they must have just gotten out of their basement or shelter because every second Bush was in office was scarier that anything Obama has ever said.

It all depends on who you're scaring. Many of the people scared by Obama SHOULD be, and thats not such a bad thing.

And then you have those that just have no idea what their talking about.

It stated factual information. Sorry you're not hearing that your lord and Saviour is not as perfect as you want him to be.

He'll tell you what you want to hear so you'll vote for him though.

america can't solve the world's problems and her own all by herself and obama wants to work with other countries to find common solutions -> one world government??? ???
if that's what you think a one world government is, well, I can't wait to have one!

It's really kind of disappointing and unfortunate to watch people bump around in the dark thinking they can see clearly.

    Whats really scary is McCain!
Obama seemed very comfortable, right at home, on his lil tour. I thought his speech was very well done. He is our best choice~ in my eyes~ he's our only hope! I believe he is indeed capable of restoring our image and economy. It is a mess that we can not clean up over night~ though he is showing the world that he's ready, willing, and able. One world~ one Love~ lets get together and fe~el al~right~ sorry~ had that song in my head for some reason???
