Okay I am going to tell on myself. I was wondering about the % of posts that I have in this thread. And I looked at it and thought I must be the worst offender here. So I was looking at other posters numbers. I am one of the worst offenders % wise. I do think it is because you are all so kind and welcoming, and I always kind of feel like an interloper on other threads. But I noticed something else as well. Between us, we have a pretty complete medical team. I'm an RN, and we have a social worker, an occupational therapist, and a budding EMT. So we still need is a physical therapist and a MD to sign the orders. If something were to happen to EV again, God forbid, we would ready to go. :roll:
That is funny that we have an almost complete medical team. I'm the OT and I actually thought more than once when eddie was in rehab last year for his back/arm that I wouldn't mind fixing that right up for him... He's obviously healed which pleases me (us) to no end. I will never be able to post enough in any other thread to have a higher post count than this one... And I'm proud of it! Love this thread. I know what you mean about feeling like an outsider in other threads. Just stay out of AMT.... They are brutal over there. I love the bootleg thread too. Just finished Oslo 12. Blew my friggin mind!!! Sound is so amazing. Ed so sick and barely able to speak but singing so beautifully. I had to pull the car over for Mother. I have my own little pj concert everyday while I drive from patient to patient. Pretty nice, huh? Will find some pics later when kiddos are sleeping (before hubby comes home :roll: )

Some time ago I remember reading a bit out of an article or book and I've been looking around for the source but I can't put my hands on it. I know I will paraphrase it badly, but I will give it my best. In this article Eddie said that Bruce Springsteen told him once to find one person in the crowd to look at when he was singing and communicate the feelings in the songs to that person. Eddie said that he had tried, but it was hard because people so often look away.
I have never seen the whole band perform, and I am sure that it is very different. The severity of the look probably increases with the intensity of the songs. But I did see an EV solo show in November. When his solo show got cancelled, I decided to upgrade my tickets which were back in row U, to the 4th row. There wound up not being anyone in front of me in the 3rd row, so my view was pretty unobstructed. Nice for me because I'm short. During the show there were multiple times that it seemed that he was looking right at me. I remember what you had written whispering hands about not being able to look at him for long. And generally I am pretty introverted. But somehow, when he was looking at me I just couldn't look away. For one thing, I felt like it was a moment that might never come again and I didn't want to miss a moment. But more importantly, I felt it might somehow be rude -- that if he was doing his best to communicate with me, I certainly didn't in any way, want to hamper that. Then again, there is that whole moth to the flame thing. :shock:
