given that Ed isnt changing his setlist, its probably a precursor for how this june tour is going to be. man and i was hoping for atonement from the variety-less 06 east coast swing.

I don't think you can make an assumption like that.

    Wait and see, okay?

I see what you mean regarding the 06 tour, but I´m not that worried.
PJ always change up their setlists - more or less.

I´m seeing both MSG shows, convinced that I´ll hear a lot of different songs...

I think there's no link between Ed solo shows and PJ June tour. The thing is taht he certainly have less material to play soo/acoustic than the guys have together...

No way... Ed by himself has limited material... And they are not supporting a new album so we don't have to hear 7 or 8 songs from Avocado... There will be plenty of variety.

I agree 100%! Pearl Jam has always varied their setlist, and it's a vital part of why PJ is a great live band. As you said, Eddie has limited songs, but PJ has loads of songs to choose from.

The Pearl Jam catalogue , with 6 members, is much wider than Ed's one man catalog. I've seen 68 shows one time each , not 1 68 times, and see no reason that won't continue.

I'm quite certain that the band will mix things up big time on the East tour.

Obviously Ed has less material to choose from...but he's really putting himself out there with his tour, im guessing he rehearsed alot, and probably stuck with the same 25-30 songs.
    Shows: Montreal 98, Barrie 98, Montreal 00, Montreal 03, Montreal 05, Ottawa 05, Toronto 06, Vancouver Night 1 08 (EV), Vancouver Night 2 08 (EV), MSG1 08, MSG2 08, Montreal Night 2 08 (EV), Toronto Night 1 08 (EV), Toronto 09, Hartford 11 (EV), Ottawa 11, Ottawa 16, Ottawa 22.

I also want to add that since this tour isn't to promote a new album/cd, they should mix things up even more than usual. I have a feeling some rarities will be pulled out for this tour.

i had the same thought. i understand the less material thing but the sets are nearly all in the same order except the encores. could atleast mix up the order. and vedder does write the setlists for pj shows. how many pj shows last tour ended with leash, ritfw, yl? that was lame. i dont think well get 100% same setlists but i didnt like seeing the sameness in the vedder setlists.

There are 3 places with 2 shows each, avg. 20-25 songs a night. You can bet that there will be at least 35 different songs played at each of those places.

I would have been very happy to hear the "same old setlist" at any shows near me in '06.

    But there weren't any.

I thought they played YL at the end of every show because Mike insists on it, and starts playing it even if it's not on the setlist.

Yes, I think it will be more like the 2005 Canadian tour. Not really supporting an album so free to mix it up more.

have to hear songs from avocado?

    nobody is forcing you.

I'm with justam, wait and see. I highly doubt it, this band is one of the very few that does not do the same setlists night after night.

Since i'm only going to MSG 1, I'm quite confident I am going to get a nice mixed setlist ;-)
The Canadian Tour was quite varied, and I think it will be similar here. But i've said this many times. If the 10C makes up 10% of the building (though I know that the MSG shows will represent more), 90% of the people in there are going to want to hear Alive, Betterman, Daughter....and not necessarily Wash and Around the Bend...know what I mean? I'm all for the band doing whatever it takes to get the crowd into it. I can piece the rarities later, if there are boots. As long as they throw me a bone for a song or two...what's the big deal? In Halifax, they started with Hard to Imagine...it was gold from that point on..didn't matter what song came next.
