It is time to admit that we used to rock like hurricanes. It is time to run for the hills and go round and round. It is time for us to shout at the devil. We've got the right to choose it, there ain't no way we'll lose it, and we're not gonna take it anymore.

:D That's awesome ! Here's a high five for Hendrix. Other favorites for me were: The Dead, New Riders of the Purple Sage, Pink Floyd and Hot F*ckn' Tuna !
Yeah, $5 to see Jimi--remember how cheap shows used to be?! And we never thought twice about the fact that we were seeing Hendrix. Who would have guessed he'd be dead 5 months later? That was before all the rock stars started to die young and tragically.

I envy you seeing Hot Tuna. Wow! One of my faves!

The Traffic show that I saw in June 1970 is still in my top 10 concerts of all time. I saw Traffic 3 times when I was in high school/college. My husband saw Blind Faith in Maryland in 1969, the concert that he says made him decide to become a musician. And now we're going to see Steve Winwood open for Tom Petty in Dallas tomorrow night. I hope I never get tired of going to shows. :D

Paul Butterfield and Mike Bloomfield . I was 6 , in 1965, and leaving me home alone wasn't an option. The first show I went to and enjoyed was The Monkees in August, 1967. Little did I suspect that the opener, The Jimi Hendrix Experience , was the real attraction.
