I think the decision to have rows 1-2 and 9-10 be random is the perfect move. Now EVERYONE will have the opportunity to sit close to the stage and no matter what your number, the most your seats will be affected is 4 rows.

For those of you who will complain about this, saying "being in the club since 1994, I deserve to be in the front", I think you have gotten your loyalty reward over the years by being so close. You will still be extremely close, possibly even in the first 2 rows, but now some of the people who may have caught on to the band a few years late will also get the shot.

WHERE is this info...why haven't i seen it?

and KUDOS 10c!!!! i have been hoping and wishing for something like this for...forever! :D i am sure many of you already know this since i have posted my thoughts on this topic here many times over to say the least. ;) i think this is a PERFECT compromise! that's ALL anyone can desire....the *CHANCE* for that experience. again, well done 10c!

    *applauds*

Does anyone know roughly how many 10c seats there will be from each show?

my understanding of it is 10% of the venue capacity is the maximum allowed for any fanclub to have. so obviously, entirely dependent on the size of each venue. bottomline though...definitely not enough, especially in places like MSG. it sucks to think i could get shut out of 10c tix for my hometown show...but nada 10c can do about it. just have to remain hopeful! :)

See... the long time members aren't bitching... they are happy. They already know what it's like to walk closer and closer and closer to the stage and find their seat way up there. They want others to share in that feeling... and it gives everyone the **Hope** that they will win big.
    I think it's a great thing.

    I agree..throw them a few crumbs!

    crumbs?
    :p

    hahahahahaha.

i think it's GREAT, and certainly not *crumbs*....but whateva.
however, WHERE is this info? i just read the ticket buying/distribution policy for the shows just announced, and do not see this mentioned. where/what i am i missing?

    *edit - nvmd.

Tickets will be allocated by seniority within the Ten Club, meaning the
longer you have been an active member, the closer your seats will be to the
stage. However, for this tour, we are implementing a slight change - rows
1-2 and rows 9-10 will now be RANDOM distribution. This means regardless of your member number you will have a chance of occupying seats within those random rows. We thank all of our diligent, loyal fans for accepting this
change gracefully. Please share the love.

got it! i didn't have a chance to read it earlier, couldn't get on here....just saw it on pearljam.com the tourdates and then left work happy. :) fantasitc!

Crumbs, in terms of making ALL of the seating random, which, would have been a whole slice of bread!

What a great idea. Glad 10c is doing this. Sorry if you been in the front row since 1995 I don't feel sorry for you. About time they change it up a bit. Change is always good. Look at me I moved to Denver and am loving it. :)

i think rows 1&2 then 9&10 are a great move for random members. the rows in between im guessing are based on seniority?

i think THAT would be the whole loaf. ;)
    :D

perhaps SOME wished/wanted that, but i for one never did. i have always believed in seniority overall, just actually asked for ONE random row per show, so this is even more than i ever wished for! :D i've been VERY fortunate with all my GA shows, sharing shows with friends, but i'd LOVE to be able to share such amazing seats with my husband and/or just HAPPY for whoever gets that amazing chance to be close.....brilliant! win-win indeed!

    I think it is great.
96 and 98 I had, as Ed referred to as "shit tickets"....in 06, I was grateful to be close enough to even see them... from row NN. The Meadow's lawn sucks.

I recall mentioning this exact idea before, not that the stole it from me but if I can up with it, it must have been obvious.

One other note, hopefully all tickets aren't in random draw for 9&10, it would suck to have a low number that would have gotten you third row and get random draw for 10th row.

paragraph 1: steal from me, you've stolen twice ;). and, as i always say, if i thought of it, somebody else probably already did...

paragraph 2: thank you. hoping for some clarification on this point.....

  • Great idea by the 10C. Seeing PJ from those seats is an unbelievable experience, and something that all people who care about this band should at least have the opportunity to experience.

No need to have the same people up there every show.

And they came up with a way to not completely fuck over the people who would inevitably whine about this... well done 10C

yeah, i'm hoping they do lottery for 1 and 2, then fill in 3 to 8 with seniority, then do lottery 9 and 10, then back to seniority so those of us with low numbers who have only managed to use them 3 or 4 times since 2000 don't get totally screwed....

yes, i've been on the front row due to seniority. honestly, though, i've only hit it 3 times since 2000. i haven't abused the system, stood motionless, or been recognized by ed as being there constantly, so i'm feeling a little slighted while at the same time happy for those who were 4 in 1994 when i joined. i'm fine with the random thing as long as i don't get penalized for having a low number since i don't use it that much. i think maybe there should still be a limit on how many shows you can buy and still expect seniority.

  • I like the idea a lot, but have one question. Could someone with a really low number, who would normally be in the 3rd or 4th row, be randomly assigned to row 10? I'm sure the 10 club has thought of that.

i hope they have considered that point.

i have a low number (117xxx) but i've never been in the first three rows...
i've been sort of close but always waaaay on the side (usually stone;s side... once, mike's side)

i was hoping my number would one day get me closer to the front and center...
    i guess i'll keep hopin' ;)

    This is very cool.

    I like.

I have been in the 10C since 1998, and I have never got in the first 6 rows. The closest I have ever been was row 4, and that was on the VFC tour through ticketmaster.

    Thanks, 10C!!

If I get to see them just ONCE in the first row, this will all have been worthwile!!
