i think rows 1&2 then 9&10 are a great move for random members. the rows in between im guessing are based on seniority?
yeah, i'm hoping they do lottery for 1 and 2, then fill in 3 to 8 with seniority, then do lottery 9 and 10, then back to seniority so those of us with low numbers who have only managed to use them 3 or 4 times since 2000 don't get totally screwed....
yes, i've been on the front row due to seniority. honestly, though, i've only hit it 3 times since 2000. i haven't abused the system, stood motionless, or been recognized by ed as being there constantly, so i'm feeling a little slighted while at the same time happy for those who were 4 in 1994 when i joined. i'm fine with the random thing as long as i don't get penalized for having a low number since i don't use it that much. i think maybe there should still be a limit on how many shows you can buy and still expect seniority.
I like the idea a lot, but have one question. Could someone with a really low number, who would normally be in the 3rd or 4th row, be randomly assigned to row 10? I'm sure the 10 club has thought of that.

i hope they have considered that point.
i have a low number (117xxx) but i've never been in the first three rows...
i've been sort of close but always waaaay on the side (usually stone;s side... once, mike's side)
i was hoping my number would one day get me closer to the front and center...
i guess i'll keep hopin'
(and i swear, i hope i don;t sound greedy but it has been 14 years or so!!)

it's my understanding that this is EXACTLY how it will be.
I have been in the 10C since 1998, and I have never got in the first 6 rows. The closest I have ever been was row 4, and that was on the VFC tour through ticketmaster.
Thanks, 10C!!
If I get to see them just ONCE in the first row, this will all have been worthwile!!
I think it is great.
96 and 98 I had, as Ed referred to as "shit tickets"....in 06, I was grateful to be close enough to even see them... from row NN. The Meadow's lawn sucks.
you must have been right near me.. were you in the second section of seats, kinda in the middle?
i hope my 405xxx will get me good seats, because i got my hartford 06 tickets through a connection last time

From my stand point it blows b/c i've been a member since 95 which means i'm always sitting in the third row. Based on the front two rows being random I think this mean i will get pushed back two more rows based on senority.
Hopefully not but i think it's good for everyone else.
In all honestly from most of the shows i attended last year the idiots in the first two rows were the biggest bags of shit i have ever seen. Most of them stood there with there arms folded bitching about songs
"it feels like it's the end of the world and we all got a good seat. you know -- step right up, get your tickets...here we go."
Yeah, i'm 86xxx and I think that is very fair. Nice move 10C!
This was a great idea. It's very fair. I've always been for seniority because I have a decent number, but I can only go to shows that are attended by better numbers (Seattle area, original fan club members). So I get decent seats, but wouldn't want to get much further back. Anyway, great idea, now all I need is a show I can get tickets for not all the way across the continent!

A lot of these people must be new members because everybody is excited.
I went over details again and do not see where this is posted and no one has shown the proof.
I am glad they are coming to play here but the 10 years + members still deserve the best seats. You can flame me all you want for saying that.
I have been lucky enough to be in the first 15 rows but I am sure if I had the money to travel to see several shows I might get closer.
I would love to be in the front but somebody that joined in the last two years needs to be behind me sorry:( all of us old timers have paid our dues literally!!

i dont think they should do this every tour. the people with low numbers should be up front but, if they want to do it on this tour for fun go right ahead.
I was a little worried with all the talk of change around here....but that sounds like an excellent compromise. I have a pretty decent number, been front row once, most of the time row 4-6, so hopefully I'm not even affected that much.....and hell, maybe for the better! (although, I'd prefer side stage seats after about row 8, unless I was seven foot) Now if I can just come up with the cash by monday

I think it's a great move by the Ten Club... it really gives newcomers incentive to join up. And hey, any one of us might land front row one day.
it also gives scalpers the chance to sign up now and score first two rows, btw, which never existed before. in fact, i thought the major reasoning behind seniority was to prevent scalping...
10C tickets are handed out to the person making the purchase. So, should a scalper get his hands on a pair of tickets, he/she would have to be there to collect them and he/she would have a max of 2 to sell. Not much of an incentive for scalpers I would say.

They really did nail it, and I give em big creds for that. I look forward to getting great seats again for the Mass. date like I did in 2006 for one of the Boston shows, with the possibility of being in the very front. That'd be fucking sweet.

It's the 'friends' in the ticket business that may be more of a problem with scalping than the one that signs up for two tix. General sales tix are the ones vulnerable, as we all know! Some 10C tix may turn up on ebay, but those are usually the 'spare of the pair'.
