it's someone from Scotland, who's probably reading this thread right now
Doesn't surprise me at all. I always thought she was quite cool, but lately the un-wavering support is getting kind of ridiculous. Nobody seems to be able to post any kind of negative comment without her wading in with some comment.
You can't even post constructive criticism over there anymore. Sure, we've had our fun with jokes and name calling and pictures, but even when someone voices a true dislike for the new music/direction/TIMBALAND, and does so tastefully, they are censored. Like a bunch of fucking nazi's over there. Unreal.
Ha, I just went to leave another myspace comment and it blocked me....'seems like you're flooding the comments, let others have a chance, call back later' !
looks like someones gotta go back to rock n roll fantasy camp and take prof. mccreadys guitar smashing course... bad form... hes gonna throw his back out smashing an axe in such a gay manner... or worse, tear the crotch of his fancy pants
and whats all this about censorship?? glad i VERY rarely post over there... the only group i can think of that sucks worse is radioheads message board... and lisa as in yahamita? shes the one that got me into the CC streetteam (which i in turn quit a week later after hearing the new stuff)
thats lame-sauce
glad we not only have a cool respectful band to follow, but also level headed moderators and fan club execs to make the whole experience enjoyable

WTF?
thats an awful subtle way of saying "fuck off, youve been blocked"
i bet you you go back 2 weeks from now and itll still say the same thing

If you ever get a chance to leave another comment, it's gotta be "...seems like you're screwing up your own career, take a year off, try again later."
Smokey Robinson constantly looks like he's trying to act natural after being accused of farting.
is that that ugly chick whos avatar looks like Howard Stern?
my avatar is mikey rockin the SG shirt! thats the one good thing about that board... ive had a few clueless chris fans message me asking who the guy in my picture is  shows what kindof people post over there
I know clarefromscotland can be kind of unrelenting in her passion for Chris Cornell, and I've certinally disagreed with her on more than one occasion, but she strikes me as a geniunenally passionate fan and I find her website very useful for information about Cornell. Her interview with him is pretty fascinating.
And the hate on that board has been pretty strong. I'm talking hate, not constructive criticism: stuff like wishing for Cornell to get back onto drugs or to him to have another tradgey akin to Andy Wood, so he gets back into that "depressed" state of mind. If you notice, the admin has put a bunch of new board rules up - seem completley fair to me.

I guess my 1 comment is flooding it also, i also saw that same avatar of the Irish Howard Stern look-a-like Clare O'Brien on his friends list. Why would you make your avatar your picture if you were so butt ugly?
just tried to sign in over there, i guess ive been deleted also!
what was your username there?

Ah, drama on a message board. Can't beat it
Yes, there is some strong hate on the CC board at times, but please don't let a few real negative posters reflect the vast majority. People who are voicing sound, constructive criticism over their dislike for the new album are either being censored or lambasted for their views (even when they're not harsh).
I, for one, never posted to the whole "Chris needs to get back on drugs" thread. That is preposterous; I'd rather Chris quit making music than see him ruin his life to drugs/alcohol. I also never really gave a shit about him touring with Linkin Park. If you look closely there were only like 2 or 3 really harsh, negative posters over there, who really posted nasty shit (like the drugs thread). The majority of the negative feedback over there has been composed in a relatively constructive manner (for the most part). Many of CC's long time fans are voicing their opinion (good or bad), and that is what SHOULD be done on a forum. The fact that peoples' constructive criticisms are being censored is totally ridiculous. From what I remember, there was far worse shit being spewed around when Carry On was released, yet far less controversy on the boards.
heres what i had to share in case its not around too long:
"I'll do my best to respectfully share my opinion here... but from what i hear from my PJ friends over at the PJ message board theres a whole lot of unnecessary censorship going on here... ill begin by saying im not angry about the album and dont wish any failure for chris since hes a family man and since he seems passionate about the project... with that being said however i am incredibly disappointed... nearly to the point of tears when i first heard the new material... i gave timbaland the benefit of the doubt for the longest time, standing up to friends, thinking that he may have the ability to move between genres like rick rubin proved by producing audioslave... clearly however that is not the case
he took chris (with his voice sounding better than it has in a decade) and turned it into the worst kind of pop rubbish... and i like quite a bit of pop rubbish when its done right... not even the beats timbaland uses are anything unique... i remember chris saying he wanted to go solo to have control over the entirety of his music and then he seems to have turned over complete musical control here... the man that wrote "sunshower", "seasons", "outshined", "spoonman", etc etc etc is now asking "is this mic on?" and having gangster spoken word bridges like a bone thugz song??? i dont get it!
i dont know whats worse... to think that its sincere and he really has lost all artistic integrity or to think he would make an insincere album for all the wrong reasons... he has one of the most loyal and loving fanbases made up of fans i know of other stellar 90's bands and yet he seems to be pandering and dumbing down his abilities to get a new fan base all together... i cant help but ask why? my loyalty only goes so far... if i get the feeling chris doesnt appreciate or need my support and would rather adopt the linkin park fanbase then ill step away with the extensive chris collection i already have and be content... nothing could ever tarnish what he and his music meant to me in my past... but i was hoping to enjoy his music in the future too as i do with mark lanegan's (who btw has been far more open to new projects and genres and does so without selling out his principles)
im sincerely hoping this is a phase chris is going to like neil young "lucky 13" and he'll have a triumphant return to form with his next album... but my thought is that if people all run out and buy this album strictly because of our past loyalties to chris, then he'll get mixed signal and may think we actually prefer this to what he has done in the past... and can anyone honestly say that? look for the good in it all your want and be as "openminded" as possible, but who wouldnt prefer he use a real drummer as opposed to a drum track... this is the guy that played with matt FUCKIN cameron for christs sake!
ok... thats all i have to share... might get removed... but hopefully not... i love chris... im worried about him and the path hes choosing... hope im not alone in that... maybe the people in charge should pass on the concern of his fans (which ive encountered overwhelmingly) instead of making it disappear... sometimes ignorance is just ignorance and not bliss"
all my posts are gone except ones people had quoted, unbelievable! Im bringing a big black thumbs down sign tomorrow to the show, ive got front row in the balcony, when he starts the new crap songs , Im gonna hang the thumbs down over the railing.
great post sgossard3, I couldn't agree more with everything you said there

ha... probably... i did kindof put them on the spot but mentioning their gestapo censorship BS... but one guy already agreed with me... i wouldnt care if i do get booted... i only have 16 posts there cause every conversation is completely shallow and irrelevant
Totally agree stone...
I think that as a musician you can experiment. Metallica once did it, and they lost many fans. That's a very good example of having the guts to play new sounds with the risk of being titled as "MONEY MAKERS".
But Chris went beyond that, a year ago he released the single YOU KNOW MY NAME... wich is AMAZING!!!! How can a man turn to these new shitty songs as LONG GONE? Not caring about his fans at all!!!!! Does he have the guts to loose all his fans? I hope he does, because this is not evolution... is a mess.
That forum has just been completely overrun by clueless kids, describing that forum as "shallow" is an understatement. One of them for example, chrissy_ffm, has got over 1700 posts since joining last April, and only a month or so ago posted a link to a Coldplay song believing it to be a new Chris Cornell song... seriously. She also usually has a photo of herself doing the retarded "devil horns" hand signal as her avatar. At the moment, she is one of the main members who are so delusional and obsessed in their defence of Chris Cornell, when she obviously has not got a clue what she is talking about. There's a group of them who pretty much to just spam the board with pointless CC-idolising drivel.
Sorry to pick out one member but she gets on my tits a hell of a lot... there are many others as well though.

Personally i think musicians should make the music THEY want to make not want the fans want. I would hate it if PJ didn't try something like 'Riot Act' again just because it wasn't 'popular' with their fans.

it wasnt popular with them at all either based on the things they have said... glad they did it though... as are many fans now that some time has passed... it definitely grows on you
