Lullabies to Paralyze by Queens of the Stone Age has a few good songs but for the most part it is a disappointing follow up to Songs For The Deaf.

I think Kid A and Weezer's Green Album were big disappointments as well.

By The Way was a poor follow up to Californication, which I like a lot.

The Tragically Hip's Trouble at the Henhouse is a disappointing follow up to Day For Night.

Hmm... Trouble at the Henhouse is one of my favorites. I agree with all the others though.
    Which came first,
the bad idea or me befallen by it?

When did they get off track in your opinion? Not looking to argue just curious to hear your perspective.

    Audioslave - Revelations
Self-titled brought what the line-up suggested Rage + Soundgarden. Revelations was something new, unexpected and unpleasant

Bloc Party - A Weekend in the City
Silent Alarm just seemed more sincere somehow, that's the only way I can explain it)

    Chris Cornell - Carry On
Euphoria Morning had some seriously well written songs and memorable melodies. Carry On had neither.)

Foo Fighters - There is Nothing Left to Lose
I've noticed people singling out In Your Honour and One by One but was There is Nothing Left to Lose really any better? Nope. The Colour and the Shape was brilliant and There is Nothing Left to Lose made me wonder if Dave Grohl was holding out on us

    Green Day - Warning
Dookie = Good, Insomniac = Meh, Nimrod = Good, Warning = Trainwreck

I Mother Earth - Blue Green Orange
I guess Edwin was important after all. Scenery and Fish was amazing, Blue Green Orange was forgettable.

    Limblifter - I/O
Limblifter made an album after Bellaclava? Unfortunately yes. Kurt Dahle left to become a full time New Pornographer and I can see why.

The Mars Volta - Frances the Mute
Deloused in the Comatorium was too fantastic to put into words. Frances the Mute simply tries to overcomplicate itself. Dear Mars Volta, get back on the coke, it seems to make you better.

Matthew Good - White Light Rock and Roll Review
As big a Matt Good fan as I am, this album was disapointing. Usually outstanding songwriting was seemingly abandoned in favour of 'the message'.

    Pearl Jam - Binaural
How do you even try to follow up YIELD? Unless its with YIELD II: Vedders Revenge things can only go downhill.

Queens of the Stone Age - Lullabies to Paralize
Songs for the Deaf has a pulse, I'm serious that things alive. Lullabies, though solid enough, could not live up to expectations.

    Radiohead - Kid A
Shut up I know its good! But, they went from writing the most melodical songs in the world to songs that really challenged your concept of what Radiohead should sound like. It didn't seem to evolve from a previous place, it was just too much of a change to deal with all at once for me.

Rage Against the Machine - Renegades
This album did not need to be made, period.

    Rancid - Rancid (2000)
Where did all the melodies go, oh that's right heroin stole them from you. This album was a lazy effort at best.

Red Hot Chili Peppers - By the Way
Californication was solid from start to finish. It was catchy, it was popular but it was still sincere. By the Way, though it translated well live, bored the crap outta me. And whoever says One Hot Minute was a disapointment is either too high or not high enough.

    Sparta - Porcelain
Wiretap Scars was a triumph! Where did the intensity go? I don't know if it was too much pressure or a conscious effort to try and get more popular but it just didn't work for me after Wiretap Scars blew me away.

Stone Temple Pilots - Shangri-La Dee Da
Easily Weilands worst performance on a record. Not saying its the worst record he's ever been on though. Just a let down after No. 4

And those are the followups I found disapointing.

40oz to Freedom is a lot better than Robbin' the Hood.
Only cause 40oz was a real album, not an EP recorded on 8-track with extra "filler" recorded at the last minute. The lack of production along with the eerie vibe make it my favorite album of theirs, but it only works as a collaboration, none of the songs really stand on their own, like 40oz or Killin It.

Adrenalize came after Hysteria. Not a bad album, but definitely quite a few pegs below Hysteria and Pyromania, which set the bar extremely high for da Leps.

Thanks for the correction but I have both and neither one came anyway close to Hys, Pyr.

I never knew all that about the last minute stuff. I guess since it's technically an EP, I take the statement back. Killin It is better than 40oz, not by much though.

A Ghost Is Born...sorry, it did nothing for me
  • No Code
  • Head Automatica - Popaganda
    Weezer - Green
Outkast - Idlewild (as a movie OK, as a CD no way)
Tomahawk - Anonymous (I am a Patton freak, but this didn't cut it)
Tool- Lateralus/10,000 Days(I will take APC Mer De Norms over these anyday)
Jurassic 5 - Feedback (no wonder they are breaking up)"J5 rockin onthe radio"
Radiohead - Hail to The Theif
    Live - Secret Samadhi
    Metallica - LOAD
    White Zombie > Rob Zombie
Korn - Post Life is Peachy
    Sigur Ros -Takk
    Candlebox - Lucy
  • X & Y - Coldplay. A huge let down after the stunning 'A Rush of Blood...'.

Binaural - PJ. I like it much better now but was so let down on first hearing it.

Hard Candy - Counting Crows. I loved This Desert Life, but this album makes me cringe still.

Esay Tiger - Ryan Adams. Nota patch on 29.
I used to be Cropduster84 for those who remember...
