What did we ever do before myspace?? I just love being able to *really* listen to the whole record before buying it.

Ehm, we just downloaded the whole thing? :D
I know I have, and I'm hitting the store one of these days to buy it proper.

And that knife incident sounded pretty nasty, unless it was a stunt and sort of joke from Brock's side. Considering they finished the set and evrything.

    Peace

Just bought it for 10 bucks at Best Buy. Great album. I can't wait to buy the KOL cd next in 2 weeks.

Spitting Venom is the best song! I love the trumpet.

Best album of the year thus far I think. "Parting of the Sensory", "Education", "We Had Everything", "Florida", "Dashboard" and "Fire It Up" are all top-notch songs.

i've only listened to it twice and most modest mouse albums don't grow to love until after many listens when little lyrical content seaps into my mind and i go damn that is why i always think of brock as one of the best lyricist of this generation.....

With that in mind i'm liking what i hear. not loving it all yet but i think it has a lot of potential to be great.

Spitting Venom and Parting of the Sensory are incrediable.

I wasn't sure anyone would top Neon Bible this year and I certainly didn't think it would happen so soon. I now look forward to the New Pornographers and QOTSA summer releases.

this could be my second or third favorite album Isaac's ever made.

    it's phenomenal.

when is it going to be released? And is Neko going to be on it?

It's tentatively scheduled for this summer though I wouldn't be surprised if it was pushed back until the fall. I can't confirm Neko will be on it because I don't know 100%. I'd bet on it though, they've never made a record without her.

It'd be very dissapointing if they'd do it without her, which leads me to believe she will be on it; it's just that she's been busy touring and promoting her own record lately...

When I saw them open for Belle and Sebastian she didn't tour with them, it was sad :(. They were still great, but i love Neko!

I seen her at Sasquatch festival '06.... and for anyone that was there or heard.... yup that means I seen 3 amazing songs and then witnessed one of the craziest hail storms in the most unlikely place in my life! haha she kept playing away and was the only one left on stage... getting pelted away with hail!.... In any case.... i really need to see her again.... my favorite female vocalist by a landslide right now.

    March Into The Sea
    Spitting Venom
    Steam Engenious
    Fire It Up
    Missed The Boat

All these songs are pretty awesome. The riff that comes in to Steam Engenious about half way into the songs is sweet.

I've never liked MM until I heard this record.

I have them and need to spin them. Does Johnny Marr add a lot to the new sound?

Not as much as I would have thought..... James Mercer's input to the album was a lot stronger imo... I definitely can notice his parts though in a few of the tracks.

Isaac has said that the album would have been totally different had Johnny not been in the band. Dashboard is the most obvious song, it's got Marr written all over it. Watching him play the new songs live you can definitely notice his presence...it's subtle but perfect...just enough so you feel him and know he's there.

i think so, though not being a guitarist i cant really describe how. it's not so much add as taking away. their guitar sound is cleaner and more direct i think. i love it.

am i the only person who loves "we've got everything"? florida is another favorite. and yes, spitting venom.

to whoever asked, i have no idea when the new pornographers cd is coming out or if neko will be on it. just saw it on a list of this year's releases.

This is easily the most excited I have been about an album immediately after it's realese in at at least a year and a half. I don't know if it will keep my interest, but it is pretty amazing thus far
