    Yep.
I'm sure the line nazis will try and circumvent the process (the U2 line folks are way worse than the PJ line folks could ever dream of being). But I like the idea of grabbing a band in the morning, going about my day winning countless riches in the casino and returning for show time.
Yeah I’m sure folks will be there by 5am to get those 1st bands I’ll see how it goes with reviews of process before I decide

What typically happens for U2 (and apparently started happening yesterday for tomorrow's opening show) is there is a private Facebook group of some crazy fans who travel to see lots of shows (what band's fan base would do such a thing lol) and they start a list usually a couple days before show, and it's often not anywhere near the venue (in Foxborough for the 360 tour it was at a Dunkin' Donuts a mile up route 1 as they weren't allowed to do it on venue property) and only those in the know end up on the list. Then they bully their way to the front of line at venue on show day. And often U2's security/management team instructs the venue staff to allow it to happen to avoid conflict.
    It's straight up BS.

Yah I never liked the, whoever can travel to the venue first and gets a wristband idea either, because it completely blows for people that have to travel.   The best was probably the old way Springsteen shows used to do it.   You'd show up any time during the day, get a number, and you were instructed to come back at 6:30.  They would do a random draw, and that number because the starting number.  Say 900 people got #'s, they pulled 567, the start at 567 go to 900, then start at 1 until the spots ran out.

The only challenge was that wasn't really about deciding who got in first, as it was deciding who got into the front pit section.  Now that the Springsteen shows are like PJ shows with a small GA pit and then seats, they stopped doing it.

No changes in set list from the 1st night at all! Will they do this set list for the whole residency? I guess since Larry is not drumming they are playing it safe

Isn't that normal for u2. Most of the times I've seen them in the past they generally played the set, but might switch out a couple of songs.   They never seemed to be the kind of band that played different setlists every night?

Yeah I believe it is! I’m hoping as the residency progresses they’d switch it up but it doesn’t seem like it’s going to happen!

I have to be in Vegas for work and had insomnia recently and on a lark looked up ga tickets for one of the shows and voila, got a pair.  I can’t get to the show until close to show time.  Do I have to lineup and get a wrist band or can I just walk up when I get there?

    You can just walk in.
They hand out wristbands staring at 8AM, but it's not a requirement.
From what I've read so far, even walking in just before showtime, you get a tremendous view in GA. Folks have stated they feel "part of the show" on the floor. The reported number of folks in GA has varied from 1,200 to 1,800. Not sure the actual number, but it's like being in a small but incredibly futuristic club.
    Enjoy.

Agreed!  From the videos ive seen,  looks pretty wide open on the floor around the sides.  Unless you need to be super close, no need to get there early (kind of like a PJ show).  I have GA in DEC. and plan on enjoying my day and having a great dinner, and roll into the sphere maybe a half an hour berore U2 hit the stage.

We went to the shows both Saturday and Sunday.  We arrived in GA about an hour before showtime and stood on Adam's side right behind the folks on the rail.  We had seats in section 406 on Saturday.  Both experiences were very different but outstanding.  The sound was the best I have heard at any venue (and like many of you I have been to a bunch).  If you are a U2 fan and can pull it off it is a must.
