But I bet...somewhere sometime during the planning of the tour there was a discussion about numbers...and I'm sure the South's lacking record sales didn't necessarily make them excited about wanting to play here. Again...lol...this is all just my theory, and I know not a thing. =D

If you're such a big fan, why haven't I seen any posts from you on the thread? I checked your history and you didn't start posting on the thread until the "announcement" of your "PJ party" up in Marietta. You never posted to get the boys to tour the south; you never bought any trees - you never even talked about PJ not touring the south until recently. What, do you own the restaurant where you're having the party?
This smells funny. If you were such a fan, you would have been posting on the thread with the rest of the faithful. Now all of a sudden you're all over the thread???

You know I was just watching a DVD of Jeff and Stone in front of congress speaking out against ticketmaster, trying to keep their ticket pricess down to $18 and service fee of $1.75, it was kinda funny, you wanna know the main reason PJ doesn't sell in the south? THERE TICKETS ARE FUCKIN OVERPRICED! WE have tried to keep this thread positive, right now we are reeling with disappointment and turning on each other which is not the most productive way to deal with it.
I'm turning my anger, disappointment and loss of respect on the band, they are the ultimate decision makers...unless they have sold out to sony.
They don't ever have to play the south - it is their decision - they don't owe us anything... just communicate it in a clear and timely manner - no more game playing. BE HONEST WITH US."I don't want to hear any splatty tongues!"

thats what we've been saying since 2006 when announced the first batch of dates, its so freakin simple, just ask kelly curtis, are they playing the south at all this year? Fuck I would have done atleast 5 more shows last year than I did. I never thought I'd feel this way about the band, in 2003 everything just seemed perfect, they announced entire tours, not leg by leg. Yes this thread is becoming kinda negative, I'm only mad because I got so excited when I saw the post to "get your memberships up to date", and don't give an insight on what we are looking at. i have to agree here. why would they tell the entire club to be sure they're up to date when they knew the tour would only cater to 10 or 15%? marketing? trying to run up the memberships so they have more funds? i hate to be cynical, but it's getting very hard not to be....

I agree with you and Gossman.
...The only conclusion I can come to is that they feel that it is none of our business and/or they want our money.
It is soley business... the integrity that I so respected got lost (Yes, after the 2003 tour). I wonder if Pearl Jam members are finally feeling their wealth - or are contractually trapped in this loop of commericalism. I would hope it would be, at least a little bit, against their will.
But, I still applaud the original focus of this thread; a campaign, a shout out. There are few other options. It represents some very American traits -We are persitent, competitive and loyal. and we really piss off the rest of the groups represented in this forum

Saw this in another thread. Don't know exactly who this poster is, but from reading comments in the past, the belief is that this guy is on the inside. He doesn't post very often, but tends to be correct with info or squashing of rumors. While the post doesn't say much, it does lead you to believe that their is still a legit chance for this year. Between this and the radio guy in Florida, it sounds like its something that could happen, but if it does it may be a bit later in the year. All we can do is hope, right?
