I know others have probably seen it, but the post about PJ playing in Chicago at Lollapalooza said they weren't officially announcing dates until late March.
I can't wait that long!!

March 1, 2007
BY JIM DeROGATIS Pop Music Critic
The major headliner for year three of the retooled Lollapalooza concert will be none other than the band that became the breakout superstar of the old Lollapalooza back in 1992: Seattle's godfathers of grunge, Pearl Jam.
The three-day concert will take place in Grant Park from Aug. 3-5, and Lollapalooza promoters don't plan on announcing the 130-band lineup or putting tickets on sale for several weeks, until late March or early April. They declined to comment on any of the acts Wednesday.
Nevertheless, three concert industry sources confirmed that fans may expect Evanston native Eddie Vedder and his band to perform on Chicago's lakefront as part of a U.S. TOUR THAT WILL FOLLOW a European jaunt that has already been announced in June, and which includes several major music festivals.
Pearl Jam's last self-titled album was released in May 2006. Its most recent recording is a cover of "Love Reign O'er Me" by Vedder's heroes the Who, which will appear on the soundtrack of "Reign Over Me," the forthcoming film directed by Mike Binder and starring Adam Sandler and Don Cheadle.

I probably should have read that more carefully. It said Lollapalooza wouldn't announce their lineup until late March.
I don't know how much longer I can take this.

So far, even with this Lollapalooza article floating around, its just more rumors with a teaser that we have to wait until late March/early April for official word.

Hey, Europe and the North can have all the festivals... I want a bonafide tour - Pearl Jam only.
Call me selfish - I can wait.
Maybe the article in the Chicago newspaper will force their hand to announce something.

i would be floored if we heard something today.... i dont know why people always think well its the 1 of the month something is going to happen.... i expect the announcement right before or after st pats day... anyways ten club is just waking up out there in seattle and wont post anythin until at least noon... their time.......
yep, waiting a little longer will not kill me....i think
i just can't see myself at a lollapoolaza festival, its just not gonna happen
Yeah, I lasted abut 3 songs in the mosh pit in Lisbon - unrestrained crowds (especially outside) are not my thing anymore.
My husband is actually going to be over in Portugal when Pearl Jam plays the festival there - at first I was bummed (because I was not going - but got over it when I found out is was a festival).
He will still go see them (without me!) and I am going to drown my sorrows in Key West with some girlfriends that weekend

still hoping my source was wrong, but doubtin it...
I don't care for festivals either. At 35, I am getting a little too old for all-day mosh pits and crushing crowds. However, I am still going to one if it turns out that the only thing they do this summer is festivals. Who knows? It may be our last chance to see them. Not saying they will call it quits anytime soon, but you just never know.

first being Sao Paulo Brazil....didn't even make it till the opening band started....they let us in 3 hours early...when the flood gates opened..and all those hard core parting folks that spent night drinking reached us...man it was rough....after about an hour and a half...watching people pissing in cups...then passing it forward..and being squashed...resigned to going to the back. Did it again in Switzerland...cause at first it was slated as a seated concert....but no..another GA...course it was a much smaller crowd...and was able to hang in there...but again...pain, sweat....not for me. Did get Eddies attention though....that was sooo cool. okay and worth it...but I'll take seats anyday over GA. Okay rant over.....

I have e-mailed my friends in Seattle to see if it's ok to put forth the list as I have it. When I get a return e-mail I will send everyone a PM that was on the list from last week. Please do not post it.
A while back I wrote this:
"and then Europe onto US "weird progression" stops until The Bridge School Benefit and then go into the studio. Weird Progression is the tour order and venue selection."
What I meant is that the band it tired as shit of the usual Live Nation/Clear Channel/Miller Lite promoted and venued shows and are trying to put together a more creative tour that is festive. The South is included. These odd venues and festivals are hard to tie down. The Chicago release this morning came out because I had been told it was ok to run my mouth today because it would be announced today - and I will bet that reporter had the same instructions.
Either way, I will send the return e-mail that I get. I'm not going away ...
