  • Rider's Lounge on Hilton Head Island, S.C. would be nice.

I still cannot believe it happened.

I made a sign (just the size of a man's handkerchief) that said "PLAY IN FLORIDA".

At the end of the 2nd Lisbon concert they had the full lights up for the last three songs. It was by far the best concert I have ever seen - they were totally enjoying the crowd. I was on the first balcony Stone's side - right next to the stage. (the floor was on huge mosh pit of 10,000 + people).

We had front row mosh spots the first night but could only take 5 songs - it was awful. Second night we ended up with front row balcony seats.

When lights were full on I held my sign along the balcony (the people around me didn't even see it.) Ed took a break and came to our side and was just dancing and looking at the people.

He held his hand over his eyes so he could read my sign.

When he realized what the sign said he threw his head back (as if to say Ahhhh!!! somewhat guilt-ily) spun around and waggled his head and shrugged his shoulders (as if to say "I don't know!?!)
Then he danced around and gave me that look out of the side of his eyes with that devil grin.
By then, I had my hands clenched and extended (beseechingly) and was saying "Pleeeeaaase??!". He threw his head back and laughed & waved.
A few minutes later, he came back. By then I was just standing, clapping and yelling "Bravo, Bravo!" He smiled and I nodded at him and bowed my head a little and He did the same thing back to me!!!
Then he waved again and he danced back to center stage to say goodbye with the rest of the guys- it really was the end of the show - I think a record breaker - just shy of 3 hours.

I was blown away. Ijust looked at my husband who was as shocked as I was. and he said, "It really happened!". It all happened so naturally and spontaneously- I really couldn't have planned it.

So I don't know what they plan about playing the South, but I do know he feels guilty (good!) and I got my two cents in! And it was the best concert yet.

Thanks for your divine efforts..........Glad that the trip went well........Please Play the South.

I won't change direction and I won't change my mind:
Please, Pearl Jam, PLAY THE SOUTH!!!

How much trouble does it take?
how much wrong does it make?
    How much happiness...

I get the feeling that the band is very aware of this thread. I feel like one of them must want to know what's going on with their fans. So maybe they check this out?? Maybe Kat (hint hint) let's them know how desperate we want to see them in the south???

By your answer, it seems that Eddie does know about all the requests on this board.

    So another bump!

No PJ show in the South tonight so we must celebrate one of our friend's B-days at Hooters rather than a show. Don't get me wrong, I love Hooters, but is it really fair to deprive us so? For sure there will be a dark pall over the night's festivities as we think of what might have been. We will do our best to get drunk and enjoy ourselves, but it just wont be the same. I guess we will just have to suck it up and take one for the team. (Sigh) :(

Grilled cheese eh? I think the only time I have ever seen anyone order a grilled cheese at any restaurant Ive been to was for their kids. Does the Hooters version have anything on it besides cheese? It just seems so simple of a sandwich. I just usually order wings or a grilled chicken sandwich. Now Im curious. So, if this thread has done nothing, it has done at least one thing. tybird has taught me something about the culinary arts at my local Hooters establishment.

Three types of cheese on Texas toast......yummmmmmmmmm.....have never gotten over my childhood love of the grilled cheese......could probably eat'em four or five times a week. I don't have the best of digestive systems, and they agree with it. It comes with fries on the Hooters' menu.

Please Play the South........we love those grilled cheeses.....:D
