I know I might sound like an idiot but, if Rick Rubin is producing the album, what happened to Bob Rock?

p.s - Guy Above Me: Great setlist

bob rock finished producing the latest record for the tragically hip last year, and actually did an outstanding job with it. i was surprised and impressed. not sure what he is up to now.

i'm definitely looking forward to the collaboration with rick rubin, and am anxious to see what he is able to bring to the next record. if the new songs heard on the out of the studio tour are any indication, i think he will help bring them back to their roots. one tune has great potential, and the other i heard is already very good, with heavy punk influence.
  • yeah i like the two new songs that they debuted

what i will say though is that as far as the second new song is concerned, i hope that some eventual lyrics replace all the wooooahh yeaaaahh's and yyeeaaahh yeaaahwooooah's

yeh i think both "the new song" and "the other new song" sound like an improvement from St Anger..bits of the songs remind me of St Anger but with pretty darn good solos!
currently im leaning more towards "the other new song" better..digging the punkish influence

Ok I've said it before and I'll say it always...I LOVE THIS SONG TO DEATH!! :o

So um, I finally saw Cunning Stunts!!!!!!!!! OMG! I don't even know what else to say other than OMG! That was one of the greatest things I've ever seen. That stage set up is THE BEST!!! How they'd come down and straight up play right in front of the fans, practically in the pit with them!!!!? *chills* That crowd interaction was amazing. The band was completely fuckin on fire too and just so feeling it!! You could really tell the energy there, band and crowd alike, was out of this world! Damn and again, their performances!??? Flawless. I didn't know I was gonna be that blown away by this. Wow!

Also I've been listening to Kill 'Em All a whole bunch lately and trying to figure out why the hell this has always been my least listened to album. Wtf?? I've totally fallen in love with it in a way I never have before and now I simply cannot stop listening. NO REMORSE is owning my ass!!!!! GOD DAMN!!

OH and how about Metallica being in Europe the same time as PJ?! AHHHHH!!!! AHHHH!!!!! I was already planning on trying to make the trip over seas and this is even more motivation! I'm hoping everything works out. I feel this more than ever. Europe? PJ? AND Metallica?? *passes out*

And if you think CS is good, then chek out S&M. It is even better, though differnent and takes a littel getting used to with the orchestra. THE BEST versions of MOP and One you will ever hear !!

BUMP because I’ve been listening to THE MASTER all day long. :D \m/
How can one album kick SO much ass??? It’s ridiculous.

Oooh and thanks for the feedback lucylespian. I must admit I was pretty skeptical about S&M at first.... but the few songs I have actually heard and the performances I've watched on Youtube really blew me away. I was surprised how well it worked. Yes! It’s definitely time to put this baby in my Netflix queue. ;)

The best thing about music, it's not a competition. I love both these performances.

I have Live Shit CD in my bedside CD player for my nightly lullaby. Nothing like nodding off listening to HArvester or Creep.
OK, maybe I'm a sick puppy but I love it !!
Actually it's easy to forget these things are around 10 yrs old, so a teenager today would have been a little kid and totally missed them.

Damn! Thanks for even more feedback guys.

'so let it be written, so let it be done!'

haha. Love it sis! And it is most definitely DONE. Ooo and at the top of the queue at that. I'm excited. :D Yeah for the longest time I just never gave it a proper chance. It didn't sound like something I'd be into. Once I finally checked it out though I realized I was way wrong.

And as far as Live Shit. Ummmmm?? I think everyone in here knows (epsecially you AxlL:p)...I am forever OBSESSED! When it comes to these live releases I’m pretty sure NOTHING can top this for me. Hell yeah lucylespian! Those versions own! Live Shit is like the PJ Benaroya equalvilent of Metallland imo. It’s just got some of the greatest, untouchably awesome versions EVER!
