Broke out For My Friends today. Wish they would have carried on with Travis.
they still play together here and there. they had the one hiccup, but they are on good terms now. don't know about any new material, but they still play.
Ah really? I stopped following after whatever that was.
Yeah, they make appearances still apparently (I don't care for Blind Melon without Hoon though). They have have a few shows booked this summer. They don't play much though. Just a smattering of shows every year. I have no clue what any of them do the rest of the time. I assume they all have jobs or play in other bands or something.
Brad Smith does his own solo acoustic thing called Abandon Jalopy. He has two albums out, one song Nico sings lead on.
On November 2, 2010, Blind Melon announced its reformation and Warren's return.[23] Their first performance came on November 27, when they played a free concert at the base of Aspen mountain in Aspen, Colorado. They continued sporadic performances over the coming months, opening for Candlebox at The Hard Rock Hotel in Albuquerque, New Mexico on February 4, 2011, and headlining Rest Fest at Crumland Farms, Frederick, Maryland on September 5.
In 2012 they toured South America, with dates in Chile and Argentina, and Western Europe thereafter. On the status of the group, Graham stated late that year that "Blind Melon is still a functioning entity, Travis Warren is our current vocalist as he has been since 2007; however, we are only doing the occasional one-off and currently have no plans to record full length CDs."[24]
To cap 2015, the band played back-to-back shows on New Year's Eve and New Year's Day at Lafayette Theater in Lafayette, Indiana, with Shannon Hoon's mother present. Nico Blue, Hoon's daughter, took the stage to sing the song "Change".
"Oh Canada...you're beautiful when you're drunk" -EV 8/14/93
There is a bootleg out there called "Long Strange Trip to Canada" or something like that.
It's a soundboard recording and has some prime Shannon Hoon happening.
Worth a look for those fans that want more Blind Melon
Isn't this the Much Music Intimate and Interactive performance? If it is I have a video of that performance it was killer only couple weeks before he passed. Too bad more people didn't like the Soup album. It's always been on heavy rotation on my turntable. Like Soup it has a little of everything on it/in it.

It might be as I am not familiar with what you're referring to. "A Long Strange Trip to Canada" is a live show from Vancouver played on 10/3/95 with some acoustic soundboard recordings at the end.
It sounds great. (Especially for a bootleg from that era.) I was gifted a copy and it just has a scan of the album art/photos.

Same old, same old. I have noticed that just about EVERY high-demand reissue that comes out ends up being delayed by the label/supplier. Why they are so fucking bad at picking a release date is beyond me... Unless the manufacturers got that out of control that quickly. I assume it is all about wait times with the presses. I wonder how long the industry is going to wait before admitting maybe vinyl is back for good, and do something about supplying the demand?

I wish we could get more stuff from their vaults - their live shows in the early 90s were much like the Replacements. Bloody brilliant or a disaster.
agreed. there were some really off key backing vocals at some of those live shows. and then some amazingly transcendent performances like "Soup" at Woodstock 94.
