I mean cmon, he won american idol, how great is that.

He is the best songwriter to come along since lennon.

His music has so much substance

He just flat out kicks ass.

    Sure he should have done American Idol, it gave him a ton of exposure which is what young artists need in the begining. He was offered a job singing for the band Fuel afer he was kicked off idol. Now people know his name, and he's selling records and tickets.
    Let's see those 2013 dates in the southern states.

    I agree. Granted American Idol is cheesy, but if you want to just get your foot in the door, (that door anyway,) that's all you need to take off. It's really worked to his advantage. And I think it's great that he decided to go solo and not join Tool.

    Isn't the "other music" forum meant for posting about other music, bands, etc? I posted a thread regarding Daughtry in there earlier; not praising or damning him, just asking a question pertaining to him.

    Now I feel like a bad Pearl Jam fan or something. :(

    His guitarist commented that if pjs first album was after vitalogy they never would have made it.
    That made me laugh.

    It is suprising how a rock band from that show has made it. Cmon look at the show they did for the inxs singer, how pathetic was that.

    I've never heard the gent sing but I hear or read people talking about him; I've only heard Taylor Hicks on limp Chevy(?) commercials and I think him a bit ridiculous. Right up there with Clay Aiken, Ruben Studdard and others that I can't actually remember...

    I think that of the two (Hicks and Daughtry), in the long run, Daughtry will probably be the actual American Idol. Since he didn't win the big prize he's not so obligated to fit the American Idol-Winner pre-fab model. Daughtry can probably make whatever kind of music actually moves him instead of what a record company thinks will move the masses.

    American Idol sucks , we all know that , but if you were a halfway decent singer, made it through the show, made enough cash so youre set for life, who here wouldnt do it? You wont catch me at a Douchetry show or buying a Douchetry album, but enough people are so he wont be flipping burgers again.
