Anyone know of any 10C tickets available for this (DC) show? I want to volunteer but need the tickets first since we are out of town. Thanks.

this might be an unwelcome suggestion, but Bar Louie smokes serious pole. I don't know much about Grand Slam, but frankly I'd be up for anywhere but Bar Louie.

Could it not work out having it at RFD?

i agree with the assessment about Bar Louie. however, i prefer not to help RFD in any form for a few reasons. One reason being that in '06 when we held the fundraiser there, they would not play PJ on the stereo much (we had to suffer thru Staind, Nickelback, and their other usual crappy programming).

not that i know a damn thing about bars in DC, but how about a happy, medium...a compromise, and somewhere else entirely? i mean, if you BOTH already think this bar louie place sucks, why go there? :p i hereya for the other place, but i have seen others post about it elsewhere and RAVE about it, so musical selections aside....might be a good idea none the less...or somewhere new? just a thought.......:)

blackngold suggests a valid reason for not wanting to RFD. The only reason I suggested it beacuse is because it's large and roomy, and has a great beer selection. It is a little pricey, but where in DC isn't?

the beer selection is great at RFD, but the management is known to be quite aggressive with their female employees. i'm not cool with that and i dont really want to give them any business.
Also, SpotintheSky works at the Grand Hyatt and has done the legwork for Grand Slam.

Grand Slam is in the Grand Hyatt. How about the Green Turtle, that is 8 steps from the entrance to the Verizon Center. I've never been to one of these pre-parties, is there a cover, other than buying raffle tickets?

My buddy has a travel site, and since I am from DC I put this together list bars and stuff around the Verizon Center. There are tons of places, just finding the right one. I would assume you need size and some place to put a guy on guitar?

well it sounds like you HAVE found a happy medium then! :)

oh, is the hyatt not close to the venue?
if it isn't i would suggest a place that is. i have been to errrrrr.......5-7? pre-show parties, both in the states and abroad...and the BEST were always BIG, CLOSE to the venue OR....had a SHUTTLE to the venue. but overall, i think you get the best turn-oput being close-by.

    anyhoo...as i said...whatever....i'm there in any case. :)
looking forward to meeting many new jammers!
