and trust me when i say you don't know what youre talking about.
i am well aware of how well the oils used to rock, back in the day. i spent many a night being drenched in peter garrett sweat and vagueing out over how excellent rob hirst pounded those drums, and the occasional garbage can lid. but right now in australian music there are a shitload of great live bands that deserve some attention. oz rock rules and we do it so well.
lol
i'm just funnin ya
if you live by a large city chances are there are lots of places to rawk out on a local level and sometimes that's waaay better than hanging out with 20000 people

Love Powerfinger but just can't get into Bernard Fanning's solo stuff.
Oh T! What about Say You'll Watch Over Me?
I think I bought EVERY COPY that K-Mart had and gave them all to my friends and family to raise money for Youngcare. It's a beautiful song and Bernard dedicated it to Shavaugne with the proceeds to help build apartments for young people living in care facilities to get them out of old people's homes.
It's a magic song. Just magic.

oh my yes. me and 250 odd other drunken souls in the front bar of the annandale a-rocking and a-rolling. there ain't nothing sweeter than that going around. im so spoilt by small venues, i cringe at the thought of even contemplating being inside the entcent or, heaven forbid, the superdome.

The Living End are incredible live. Epecially when they belt out their early tunes Prisoner of Society, All Torn Down etc.
Old School stuff:
Hunters(Throw your arms around me alone never mind the rest)
The Angels
AC/DC
Oils
Diesel(yes I like him)
Newer Stuff
Grinspoon
Jebs totally agree about how good they are live Bob evans was good live too
John Butler Trio
The Beautiful Girls
Missy
And probably a thousand more I can't think of at the moment
Did you catch Doc on Rockwiz the other night???
I so have to buy the new acoustic album. And I think I saw somewhere there's a book??
when i bumped into mike in adelaide last yr i was wearing a cold chisel shirt. he commented that "those guys are from round here arent they?".. then he asked me if i liked the angels... he also said he isnt a huge fan of the oils.
old oz music is sensational. now we have jet and wolfmother... and a gay powderfinger and silverchair - both who have lost their bite.
Yeh I've seen Pearl Jam, too. But I can't remember the dates.

That would have been one very cool conversation to be a party to!
What we don't have anymore is gritty, working class, pub rock.
It's all very nice and interesting the new stuff, but it doesn't make you wanna throw yourself around and sing a the top of your lungs does it?

Just because it's for a good cause doesn't mean I have to like it.
I still think it's a beautiful song, good cause or not.
