I just love my Aussie Music and the Aussie Music Industry.

From Slim Dusty to Hilltop Hoods, if it's Aussie I pretty much love it!

So what are your favorite Aussie bands?

And is there anything new going on that I should know about? :)
NOPE!!!

but you do have some really good stuff too....nick cave obviously, abattoir & lyre are very very special pieces of work, the waifs are quite good, the vines, & i've been listening to angus & julia stone lately as well which isn't bad

and that russell crowe is a class act on stage ;)

edit: oh, and i was pleasantly surprised by augie march too, was expecting alot less from them

Well first go here to see if you like his kind of tribal, earthy, groove-tastic music: Xavier Rudd- "Fortune Teller".

And if you do, then "Food In The Belly" would be a good place to start.

I've seen him four times in California, New York and Boston. I think I may be inadvertently approaching "stalker" status.

and trust me when i say you don't know what youre talking about. ;):)

i am well aware of how well the oils used to rock, back in the day. i spent many a night being drenched in peter garrett sweat and vagueing out over how excellent rob hirst pounded those drums, and the occasional garbage can lid. but right now in australian music there are a shitload of great live bands that deserve some attention. oz rock rules and we do it so well.
