I tried that, and it doesn't work. And the one I have is an actual store-bought copy of the album. Perhaps it was only included on certain copies. Who knows?
Is there a different player you can try it with?

Might have missed a couple, but the played the whole "welcome" record - laser beams. Flawless performance, and weighty ghost had a more upbeat and electric sound. crowd and band were amazing, and halifax is in for a good one.....

they played nerves normal, breath normal after danse macabre...it was insane
So. It is a full song. Very sombre, and quite dark. The only accompanying instrument is piano, and thats used quite sparsely. The lyrics, as far as I can tell, are:
After the snow went away
You stood by the fire
With an armful of wood
Your charcoaled empire
You smeared all the ashes
All over your body
Smothering the remnants
Over swollen memories
You ran to the forest
A cold sanctuary
The last breath of snowflake
Swallowed beneath

1,500? Wow, that's impressive. Obviously they're a bit more well known out east. Their show in Calgary was sold out, but it was a small club (The Warehouse) and the venue's capacity is about 600. They probably could've played a bigger venue, but I was chatting with the promoter before the show and he mentioned that it was their favorite place to play in Calgary and they really enjoy the intimacy of the room. I'm glad you guys are all having a good time at the shows. These guys are by far the best indie band in the country right now, and hopefully the new album will help them gain some well deserved worldwide attention. Although, part of me still wants to keep them all to myself.
"I try my best to chug, stomp, weep, whisper, moan, wheeze, scat, blurt, rage, whine, and seduce. With my voice I can sound like a girl, the boogieman, a Theremin, a cherry bomb, a clown, a doctor, a murderer. I can be tribal. Ironic. Or disturbed. My voice is really my instrument."

I haven't heard anything by them but i've been recommended by a good friend of mine. Is there anywhere i can download the albums? Or would anyone be kind enough to hook me up with some songs?

There was an article in the Toronto Star today discussing an East coast band (Dog Day - "the best new band you have never heard of") and as part of the article they sited some "Halifax Pop Essentials":
Sloan - Twice Removed (IMO one of the greatest albums by any band, from anywhere)
Jale - Dreamcake
Thrush Hermit - Clayton Park
AND Wintersleep - Welcome to the Night Sky
"A daunting step up to "next big thing" status from these pals of Holy F--- main man Brian Borcherdt. Complex and noisy as all hell, but tuneful enough to get "Weighty Ghost" on commercial radio."
I haven't heard the album yet - but I plan on picking it up sometime (hopefully Santa brings it for me )
In my world everyone is a pony,
and they all eat rainbows and pooh butterflies!

I'm still here. And "Welcome to the Night Sky" is still my favorite album of 2007.

Just purchased 2 tickets for the Jan 31st show at the Phoenix. I can't believe I get to see Wintersleep again so soon. I sure hope you folks in the U.K. get some Wintersleep soon.
Also, I don't know if this has been discussed but I found two mp3s hidden on my copy of "Wintersleep". Anyone else find them? The problem is I'm not exactly sure how I found them. I was having trouble loading the cd on my computer and just started clicking on things and presto they appeared.
