What was the first CD you ever owned. Myself, I got my first 3 on the same day. Christmas presents from my parents. However, I did request them.

Aerosmith~ Big Ones
Snoop Doggy Dog~ Can't remember the name
Dr. Dre~ The chronic

I didn't get my first CD player til 1994. I did buy Ten, Vs, Superunknown, and badmotorfinger within the next couple of weeks. I had em on cassette already.

My first was Blood sugar sex magic. Then came Nevermind and Ten.
I've been through alot since then. Mostly alot heavier music, like Obiruary, Pantera, Metallica and Sepultura, but I've always come back to those first 3.

OK time to come clean. The first cd I bought was; Keep on running by Milli Vanilli. In my own defence; I was thirteen.

First CD I got was the Godzilla soundtrack. In retrospect, I couldve done worse. There was some Foo Fighters, Wallflowers covering David Bowie, Green Day and other things. I dont have the CD anymore cuz it broke so I dont remember everything on it.

  • I am very pleased to say Led Zeppelin IV was my first CD purchase. Thank you. Thank you very much. A quality purchase. (1989 maybe?) Remember the long CD boxes? It was thought that single CD's needed to be sold in long boxes for some reason (harder for shoplifters perhaps?).
My first record purchase (non-childrens album) was a Beatles record, it had Twist and Shout, Taste of Honey and Chains. But it wasn't Please Please Me. It was an American release, and it was at Osco Drug. (1980 maybe?)
First tape purchase in my memory was REM's Document. I stuck with vinyl until 1987, when it became cool in high school to have tapes. But that was for only a short period before CD's came on.

I had to have something to balance the greatness I achieved later on. Hahahaha.

Well yea i guess you could. I did something wrong, but by a defect, karma still gave me something good in return.

    Hahahahaha.

That is something that doesn't belong on this thread, I didn't buy it first.

First cd I ever owned was Queen Greatest Hits. Got it as a present for my 12th birthday from my grandparents along with my first discman.

The first tape I ever owned was Sgt. Pepper which I got for my 7th or 8 birthday along with my first walkman from my parents.
