This is a greatest hits collection, is it not? Thus it does not count for this poll.
It is, although there are two new songs on it. Regrdless, it is the best record of the year. I will replace it with Neil's Chrome Dreams II
the whole world will be different soon
the whole world will be relieved
  • The Ike Reilly Assassination- We Belong to the Staggering Nights

Bumping this again for those of you who have listened to your CDs from Christmas and are ready to vote.
It makes much more sense to live in the present tense.
  • really hard to cut it down to 5, well here it is anyway:

    Arcade Fire - Neon Bible
    Radiohead - In Rainbows
Interpol - Our Love to Admire
Black Rebel Motorcycle Club - Baby 81
Kings of Leon - Because of the Times

I can't help myself I have to give out a few "more than honorable" mentions:

Queens of the Stone Age - Era Vulgaris
Brand New - The Devil and God are Raging Inside Me
    Two Gallants - dto.
The Decemberists - the Crane Wife
Murder by Death - In Bocca Al Lupo
    Beatsteaks - Limbo Messiah
Bloc Party - A Weekend in the City
    Jim Ward - quiet EP

I guess I could name 5 albums for the sake of naming 5 albums, but there was really only one for me that deserves love on an end of the year list.

Modest Mouse made an absolutely amazing album that was so far superior to anything else that came out this year, that everything else isnt even worth mentioning alongside WWDBTSES.
Once in a while you can get shown the light, in the strangest of places if you look at it right.

Can you limit this to five? You can throw out Into the Wild, as we are not counting it for this poll because it's Ed and this is a Pearl Jam board.

I actually couldn´t find anything that could take place 5 this year; started thinking about my life and capabilities and had an epiphany and wrote an album 2 weeks ago under the influence of everything and nothing and recorded it at my friends house. Yeah, what can I say. I am an Egomaniac.
