If you edit your post to switch your choices, please leave a post telling me what you've changed. I can't keep track of it all otherwise.

Great album but was out last year. Please replace it with something else.

It only came out in Europe in May of this year.

I'll change my vote to We were dead.... by Modest Mouse then I guess.

I have already voted for my 5 but there are so many good albums i just wanted to let everyone know how awesome the Baroness album is. I noticed it has not made anyone's list :(

They are a metal band from Savannah been a round a few years this is their 3rd album first release on Relapse (kinda of a major metal label)

They have a little flavor of Mastodon and a little flavor of Isis in their sound but not enough to be copy cats.

    The shit flat out rocks.

I find this band incredibly bland and boring. What am I missing?? How does one get into arcade fire?

Find a copy of their recent Austin City Limits tv performance. I'm not promising you'll like the music, but if you see them perform I don't think you'll be able to call them bland or boring.

I love this band! I'm so glad I decided to buy Neon Bible on a whim earlier this year.

Edit: Just remembered the DVD is available for download at The Owl and Bear blog:

great album - but it came out in 2006

****EDIT: "It was released in Canada on October 17, 2006, in two formats: as a limited edition Digipak and regular jewel case. The United States release was March 6, 2007, in advance of a planned tour."

.....so - not sure if that counts or not????? (if it does - I have a feeling a few of the Hip fans on the board will be changing their votes)

I am not quite sure how one could find them boring. They are, for me, the only band that equals Pearl Jam when it comes to live performances. Actually, I am leaning more and more to saying Arcade Fire is the better live band. There is no other band like them. To have all of those people on stage that are so passionately performing such beautiful music. . . I can't think of a musical experience that has moved me more than any of the times I have seen them play Wake Up live.

This is an interesting question. Being a typical ethnocentric American, I had been going with the US release dates (as with the Silversun Pickups). What do others think about this particular case?

Black Lab love...nice! I've been keeping up with them, too. The record is probably in my top ten, but too much good music this year...
