Man, am I mainstream here or what? My picks are at 1, 2, 3, 5 and 8.
Almost embarassing to be so centered on this. :p

    Peace

No voting for live albums. Anything else you want to add?

  • 1) QotSA- Era Vulgaris. I love this album more than my family even if Nick ain't on the record.

    2) Radiohead- A free album. GG Allin wished he could do something so punk.

    3) Explosions- All of the Sudden... This album really turned me on to the soundscape-stuff. You can see a grey-blue landscape as you listen to this shit. Amazing album.

    4) Arcade Fire- Neon... I didn't like this album one bit but I recognize it's merit.

    5) Soulsavers- It's not how far you fall... nice album. Anything with new Mark Lanegan is good to me.

Finally someone voted for Soulsavers! It was probably #6 on my list, so I am glad to see someone voting for it. As for your Neon Bible statement, I am a bit confused. This is your top 5 albums of the year, not an objective list of the 5 "greatest" albums of the year. If you don't like it, vote for something you did like instead.

I know a few people want to wait until the end of the month to vote, but is this really all the votes this is going to get?

Ok, got the changes, but the Hip CD was released last year. The rule we are going by is that if it was released officially somewhere in the world before this year, it cannot be voted for. Right now, I still have your vote for the Wilco album up. If you'd like to change that to something else, let me know.

Porcupine Tree is on the board! I love them, but Fear of a Blank Planet isn't one of their best and (unfortunately) I can't put it in my top 5.

This is a greatest hits collection, is it not? Thus it does not count for this poll.
