I was going to vote, but then I saw how retarded the poll is. How 2 albums that are average at best managed to get 13 votes above the nearest album is beyond me. I guess there is no accounting for perspective these days

Echoes, I agree with you. I am really surprised. I love Pearl Jam. Always have, always will. But for me, Riot Act and Binaural are far from extraordinary.

A lot of the people who brought diversity to this board have left. Anyway, I'd appreciate your vote, as you bring a different perspective to the board.

Aenima, No Code, Yield, The Bends, and OK Computer were all released in the 90s. . .this is a poll for 2000-2005. And In a Coma is a greatest hits CD.

Thats what I get for not reading the whole thread then... I can seriously not think of good cd's from now... sorry I am useless to your poll...

Wait I guess you could add the white stripes in there... Elephant and Get Behind me Satan... and In a Coma was still a great CD... but if you insist I can't pick it then I will Say Matt Good -Avalanche. And Stereophonics - Language Sex Violence Other... is that 10 now?

Ok, I am going to move on from my horror that this was listed, but I can't move on from the fact that it was the only album you listed. Please tell me you can come up with more albums from the last five years you thought highly of.

with all due respect to people's personal opinions of music (meaning the listing of creed...) that was pretty funny. thanks to boroff89 for starting this thread...for keeping track!!! of the votes...and for the laugh.

Well since you asked so nicely, here it is. The only album which probably has more than 5 votes is Kid A, so the rest are just there for your curiousity, I guess.

    3 Radiohead - Kid A
    4 Sufjan Stevens - Illinois
5 Andrew Bird - Andrew Bird and Mysterious Production Of Eggs

    7 Matthew Good - Avalanche
    8 Bright Eyes - Lifted...
9 Of Montreal - The Sunlandic Twins
    10 Mojave 3 - Spoon And Rafter

looking back I am not entirely happy with it, but here you go

Well, I can't help thinking this list is temptative since I'm not at home to look at the record collection. I also won't feel comfortable without saying I think "Abbatoir Blues/The Lyre of Orpheus" by Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds (*edit: and Z by My Morning Jacket!!) deserve to be included there as well, tied with some other album or something, but since that's not allowed and I really want to post my list right now, here it goes in no special order:

    Tosca - Suzuki
    Tool - Lateralus
    Low - The Great Destroyer
Beth Gibbons & Rustin Man - Out of Season
    Tom Waits - Real Gone
The Polyphonic Spree - The Beginning Stages of
    Joe Strummer & the Mescaleros - Global a Go-Go
Godspeed You! Black Emperor - Lift Your Skinny Fists Like Antennas to Heaven
    Mclusky - Do Dallas
The Weakerthans - Left and Leaving
Stone: Thanks for the pick and the night of complicity, you rock!
-The crazy guy with the Ramones t-shirt.
    Mexico C. 12/10/05.

"There is a rose that I want to live for
although, God knows, I may not have met her"
    -J. Strummer

"And you'll never know just how dark this screen could be"
  • wow! two votes for godspeed within a couple of posts...that's pretty cool...
