Hey ! Make yourself/incubus is from 1999- i wanted to include it in my list as well, but no dice.

The Warmth is fantastic, favorite Incubus song of all, ok tied with Glass then. lol

I knew I was forgetting some band!

Just a suggestion...should we include the PJ albums?? They will probably win...

I am fine with PJ being included. This isn't about a "winning" album as much as it's about establishing a list of highly regarded albums amongst the Synergy crew.

  • Alter Bridge-One Day Remains
    The Mayfield Four-Second Skin

Me and you will probably be the only people voting for those haha!
  • I'm surprised that Out of Exile only has one vote...seeing as there are 5 Audioslave threads made every other minute.

That's what is nice about polls like this. It helps to contextualize things. I am going to try to neaten the list up later tonight. Maybe alphabatize them. The one vote CDs are getting messy.

LOL although i think boroff gave it one vote (along with about 5 million others haha). second skin is an awesome album.......SICK AND WRONG!
to go through all these votes is a full-time job in itself......

  • Elliott Smith - From a Basement on a Hill
Bad Religion - Process of Belief
    Tool - Lateralus
    APC - Mer De Noms
    Drive by Truckers- Dirty South
    Pearl Jam - Binaural
    Damien Rice- O
    Radiohead- Hail to The Thief
    Beck - Sea change
Nick Cave - Abbatoir Blues/The Lyre of Orpheus

This was harder than I imagined it would be, I think its because the last 5 years have been kind of crappy, which has forced my seeking out of new music to shift more towards looking to the past rather than seeking out current bands. But honestly, if I were making the proverbial desert island list of CDs to bring with me, I don't know if any of these would make the top 10 or even 20.

Not a great decade, and two of those are comedy albums. Perhaps if I'd actually heard Process of Belief or The Empire Strikes First by Bad Religion, my answer might be different.

*I like MB20, they make good albums, but if this were any other decade, there would be no way they would even get on this list.

I am going to veto the comedy albums. This poll is about music. If you want to replace them, feel free. It's interesting that people keep commenting that this has been a poor decade. It's been one of my favorites.

In addition to the Sigur Ros album being from 1999, Ray Wilson's is a live album, so that won't work.

I agree too. I think if you keep your ear only to main stream radio it has been horrible since about 97, but there is a lot of good stuff out there you just have to look a little harder for.

  • I'm shocked at how much respect Lateralus is getting. I'm a fan of Tool, but thought that was a major disappointment. But that's just me.

I am going to have to throw Nirvana out. None of that material was recorded over the last five years, and it wasn't recorded with the intention of putting it on a single album. Feel free to replace it with another.
