Lateralus isn't as good as Aenima, but its still a good record. A bit dull at times, and I could really have done without every song being 9 minutes long... but still its fucking Tool and even an average Tool record is better than most peoples best.
The Man has a branch office in each of our brains, his corporate emblem is a white albatross, each local rep has a cover known as the Ego, and their mission in this world is Bad Shit.
i am going to agree also Boroff. i dont know why people see thia decade as being poor. it might be a little more spread apart than the 90's but i think its filled with great music. the thing that is different in the 00's is that there has been a big movement yet as compared to the 90's. and people are too lazy to go out and find the good music , they want it to be placed in their lap. and as i remember correctly 1996-1999 did not offer much that can be considered great
"I Will Scream my Lungs out 'til it fills this Room "
" I Will Feel Alive as Long as I am Free"
"Are We Getting SomeThing Out Of this All Encompassing Trip? Makes Much More Sense To Live In The Present Tense"

So i agree with you i just had to give you a hard time becasue all the albums i just listed off the top of my head above i LOVE!

The Man has a branch office in each of our brains, his corporate emblem is a white albatross, each local rep has a cover known as the Ego, and their mission in this world is Bad Shit.
The best album of 2005 is "Life in Slow Motion" by David Gray.

boroff, thanks for taking the pain to do this....you have immense patience.
Sure thing Viggs. I wish more people would vote. I know it's a tough task to narrow things down to 10 (for most of us, anyway), but a more represntative sample would be nice.
It makes much more sense to live in the present tense.

Come on StoneG82, let's see a top ten for the last five years. Not enough Wilco love so far!
I'm becoming rather known for my notorious Wilco posts. haha. This list is subject to change, but here goes nothing: In no particular order, my top ten of the 2000's.
1) Yankee Hotel Foxtrot - Wilco (an unparalleled classic!)
2) Guided by Voices - Half Smiles of the Decomposed (the victory lap for this legendary indie band - one of my favorite GBV records)
3) Arcade Fire - Funeral (an outstanding debut album. Not a bad song in sight.)
4) Modest Mouse - The Moon and Antarctica (really melancholy MM album. Brilliant.)
5) Ryan Adams - Love is Hell (one of the saddest records ever recorded, got me through some hard times.)
6) The Wrens - The Meadowlands (could be the best album so far, one of the best albums of the past decade, along with YHF of course!)
7) Circus Devils - The Harold Pig Memorial (call me crazy, but I really dig this Pollard side project. It's scary.)
8) Wilco - A Ghost is Born (some of the best guitar work ever recorded. Could be even better than YHF. Depends on my mood)

10) Paul Westerberg - Stereo/Mono ( I want "Let the bad times Roll" played at my funeral.)
