Has anyone heard "The Wild, the Innocent, and the E Street Shuffle" MSG show from 2009? Found this on YouTube and it's a soundboard! Finishing "New York City Serenade" now and I have a new love for this album.

Love that version of "Glory Days," with Bruce and Steve having fun giving the Yankees and the players a shout out for winning the World Series a few days before.

For the longest time I have said that "Wild, Innocent..." was Bruce's best record. For me it's a tie between that and "The River".
But for the record, there isn't a bad Springsteen album.
It is a damn good album! Side 2 may be one of the all-time greatest sides to any album ever.
There's great and then good Bruce albums. But bad does not exist for Springsteen albums.

Great:
Asbury Park
Wild, Innocent
Born to Run
Darkness (and The Promise)
Born In USA
The River
The Rising
Working On a Dream
Wrecking Ball
Good:
Nebraska
Human Touch
Lucky Town
Ghost of Tom Joad
Seeger Sessions
Magic
Tunnel of Love
Devils and Dust
Switch "Nebraska" with "Working On a Dream" and our lists would look the same. I would also have "Tunnel of Love" and "Magic" in the middle of great and good.

Something about Working on a Dream, its got a lot of great songs. I find myself pulling that one out more than others. Nebraska is really solid but I think because Bruce released it as raw demos is the reason it gets so much recognition. You hear him play Nebraska songs with the E St Band and they are so much more enriching. I agree with you on Tunnel and Magic. Too close to call.
Has anyone read the Carlin book, "Bruce", that came out last year? I picked it up at the library over the weekend. I plan to start going through it today.

BITUSA outtake. Either that or it's the slower version of the Elvis song Bruce used to cover in the '80s.
Correct MysteryTrain
from backstreets:
An even greater surprise was the tour debut of “Follow That Dream,” an Elvis Presley song from 1962 that Bruce originally reworked for the 1981 River tour; he hadn’t played the song at all in ten years when it came out last night in Oslo. The long-lost, inspirational anthem continues to resonate and finds a fitting home in the Wrecking Ball set; could it also be that Bruce was aware of the occasion, 37 years to the day since he hopped the wall at Graceland?
