    Spacers. Long strips of plastic that stick to the outer edges of the glass/acrylic, and create a "bumper" of sorts, lifting the glass away from the poster. Most frame shops should carry it.

    I guess it depends on where you go. A local art shop near me was only a few bucks (less than $4, I believe) per yard. And a woman at Michael's gave me 2 yards for free to make sure it worked out before I went searching for places to buy it from (since Michael's has it to use, but not to sell). She was awesome!!

    These puppies cost me $700 CDN in total -- Patriot Boy was $300 by itself! But nobody commented on them...are they really that hideous? I just don't like metal frames...it's 2" black for me all the way (I'm easy to please, I guess!) - yeah, that's what she said...This thread has been most useful for giving me ideas for the other posters I've got kicking around...

    I really like them. I'm planning on taking a few of mine in to be framed soon and looked to urs for inspiration (i wanted the frame and matting on mine to be kinda the same since they are all going in the same hallway). I really like what u did, it keeps them uniform and simple but the poster itself still pops!

    Here's a few of my framed posters and a couple of my collection in portfolios. I also have a few other posters in archival storage boxes. I can't figure out which posters need to be framed next. What do you think?

    Thats an amazing collection!! I would be a happy guy if i had half of those :D

    Where did you get that large portfolio book?? the largest i could find had pages that were 18x24, which makes it kinda tight for most the newer ames prints.

    Amazing collection!
    I would suggest doing the Key Arena/Randall's Island duo. Someone in this thread has one of those done with this incredible matting job where the angular lines follow out through the mat. I can't even begin to figure out what search terms to use to search within the thread to help you!
    Also, the religious-themed triptych deserves to be framed! I'd even consider putting all three in one large frame. You can order the frame from an online site much cheaper than a frame shop, then buy the matting at a frame shop and have them cut it for you, and some glass or acrylic at a hardware shop (also have them cut it). Just a thought!

    Brilliant collection. I have the 24X36 portfolio. Do you store it flat, or stand it up? I'm finding some crimping in the posters from standing it up. Thinking about using backing boards in the sleeves. Do you have any of those problems?

    Yes, I do have those problems. Usually I leave the portfolios flat and sometimes standing, I like to switch it up at least once a week or so.When I have them flat, I will put plexiglass sheets in between every few pages and put weights on top to keep them totally flat. Good luck and let me know if you find out a better solution for storage. Take care.

    Which Emek do you want, I also just got the Emek Moe summer tour poster. Emek has some kick ass details in his artwork, fuckin' blows away Ames sisters. I will post pictures when I get the next round of 4 or 5 framed.

    Thanks alot! I love the Cali 2000 trio. I was at 2 of the 3 shows so it's either those or the 96 Seattle, which I was also at. I know exactly which 96 Randall's Island you are talking about. That's pretty sweet. I'm not sure how gay it will be to copy his frame job, but what the hell! You only live once. Thanks for the compliment and the advice. Have a good one.

    Thanks for the compliment. It is a work long time in process. I started collecting back in 97-98 and I still need more. This is a real bad hobby, habit, addiction. I will need P.A. after the 2006 tour is over.
    The 24x36 portfolio comes from jerrysartarama.com - The brand is Daler-Rowney. It's the only portfolio that I found that will hold every PJ poster except 05 Borgata. Good luck.
