sorry to disagree but i'm an art director by trade with about 15 years experience and have always gotten my foam core from pearl paint in NYC, it is probably the best known art store in maybe the whole world, the acid free foam core they have is a slight beige off white color, maybe i should have not said yellowish but it is definetly off white, not a bright white, if you see them all linded up against each other the acid free is easily detectable, i do agree about the texture though
Sounds like you are disagreeing with yourself Mr. Art Director. Is it beige, white or yellow? Im sorry but you dont need 15 years "experience" to know the difference between yellow and white. Acid free foam core is not even close to yellow... it's white...

yeah well i use bienfang masterpiece collection, the color is "antique white", which is an off white, they stock that on the shelves so it is easier to differentiate from the bright white of the non acid free
i was only trying to help out the person who asked the question
so i just guess you have to ask at your local shop what is acid free, don't expect that what your buying is acid free, that is not the norm
Funniliy enough was just emailin with the missus and I just told her that DC was gonna look great in our daughters bedroom then she "jokingly" said that I sould build a gallery room out the back......what a stroke of genius....she regrets it now
So ... I'm dropping two off at the framer tomorrow ...
EMEK Coachella and EMEK 10K Lakes ...
anyone have these framed? Ideas? I'm thinking simple ... not sure I want any colored mats taking away from these pieces ...
(I think kj had the Coachella framed, have to find that post).
MasterFramer ... check you e-mail .... I want to send you some work as well ...
definitely simple mats. maybe pull one of the colors for 1/4" bottom mat, and then have the top mat match the color of the stock paper (cream, white, whatever they are on). whatever you do, let the colors from the prints make the statement!
the palms, in the breeze, still blow green
and the waves in the sea still absolute blue
Here's my framed DC and Hawaii Brad Klausen posters. I like both of them very much.
The DC is framed with two mats, one white and the other the grey color of the planes and dog tags. I know the black mat looks very good, but I went with the grey to pull out the grey color in the poster. The frame is a grey metal frame.
The Hawaii is framed without any mats. Honestly, after a hour in the shop, trying every idea conceivable, I really didn't like anything with mats and didn't think the poster needed any. I went with a brown wood frame with yellow hints within it. It compliments the art very nicely and the detail of the frame is very much like swirls, so it looks good with the wave image.

It can not be any harder than some of these Emek prints we have thrown your way
The problem with the Klausen Hawaii is the size... there are much less options when it comes to oversize matting which this print calls for if you are going to mat it properly.
Im getting to your print I just have a little bit of a back log right now. Sorry.
