Walk you ass to any local framer over Michaels. Not in Astoria, but know there are more options than a big box, corporate store, that charge too much.

That's what I want to do but I don't know of any. I don't think a place like that can afford the rent around here.

I know there's a bunch of Astorians on this forum. If anyone can recommend a framers in Astoria/lic/Sunnyside/Woodside/Jackson heights lemme know O:-)
Otherwise I'm walking my ass to Michael's.

Then I'm putting my kitty on the wall :-X

We have been to Michaels before as well, but I like the frames at Hobby Lobby better. HL also seems to offer a lot of services for free or a very low price (like assembling poster in the frame, cleaning glass, putting the hanging stuff on the back etc fpr $1,50).

If you go and have a framer done everything, you will pay a lot. But you can get creative. Look online for mats, or buy them at the stores (HL also has nicer mats). Then have them cut the mat and buy a frame that is affordable.
I'm not a big fan of the chains either, but being on a budget, this is a nice option.

Probably more, but here is a framer in Astoria. Probably has rent control.

Beehive poster is Charlotte 2013. That can be found and won't set you back a ton,I don't believe.
The lighthouse poster is Mansfield (Boston) 98. Great poster. Very hard to find and will cost several hundred dollars.

I saw that place on yelp but it seems a bit too fancy for a simple concert poster. Like they do art stuff. I actually found one down the block from my friend's house I'm just waiting for her to get home from work to tell me if it's still there. If it is I'll take mine for a quote.

Leezestar there are no hobby lobby stores around here. I want to go to a small shop cuz I don't even know what mats are lol they are more likely to hold my hand through the process I think.

image Sorry about the glare. Cost me a little over $180 at Michael's.
If I knew where it was, I would take you there....

Not in the same calibre as most in here (I must get around to taking some photos of my stuff at home) but here's a snap I took this morning. Found an old album poster in my drawer and used it to replace the marketing guff that was recently put up around the office. Much better, imo. :D

Another Klausen non-PJ print picked up. Looks fine enough hanging up with all my other Klausen's (up to 18 now) but I think sometime in the future I'd like to return it to the framers and do something more with this one.

Maybe you could find some Dock Ellis baseball cards and matting that looks like blotter?

Yeah that could be quite cool indeed. I wanted to somehow have the story there so people could learn the history rather than have me explain it to everyone. It's such a good story but to most people who look at it all they see is something pretty weird. I thought about cutting up the page about it from Brad's book but just wanted it safely framed for now.
