Did a cheap frame from Hobby Lobby and ordered a custom mat for it. Turned out great actually! (Pics don't ever do this justice)

That looks rad! Ours is also in a cheap frame, but without a mat. Maybe we should get a bigger frame and a mat for it too. Thumbs up :)

can't anyone frame their posters in anything but a plain black frame? come on folks, a little creativity! :)

I get what you're saying for sure but personally all my posters are framed simply in black. The art is the only thing you see and the frame just provides a window to see it through. I love looking through this thread and seeing people's creativity which is sometimes amazing but as much as I respect people's different styles I have no interest in framing in large mounts with wristbands, ticket stubs, etc. Also if I decided to give absolute artistic justice to every print I buy I probably couldn't afford the hobby that already drives my wife to despair...

oh i know, i hear ya, and if i ever figure out how to post my pics i will. but a perfectly thought out frame has really made these amazing prints of mine really pop. i avoid any matting that only distracts from the art. but as we all know, its all personal taste of course...i'm just sayin', black has been done. :)

I like black frames as well. I am doing all the same frames, simple black square flat sides, and all black mattes. I am using color core mattes so the only difference will be the accent color on the edge of the matte which I am matching to the print. Some might find it boring but I like them uniform. Also all will have same height well exact the landscape prints so that it will all line up nicely :)

I posted this back in November but I had to open it up to add the tickets in (once I finally got them back from my daughter who took them back to Houston with her...lol) anyways, it's done now :-)

Can anyone help me. I've been looking back through a lot of pages in this thread, but without much luck....
I'm looking for a good design for framing 2 posters together. Both Brooklyn posters are in the mail, and I'd love to see some creative designs on how to frame them together, perhaps with the concert tickets, stickers... etc... Has anyone seen anything they thought was really cool?

I really want to see double posters or more in frames. I have a crazy idea of putting the Klausen 2010 set into one frame. One black mat and then individual colored mat around each poster, prob expensive, but nice looking

What you've described can be done...
but the size of a frame for just the 2 posters ALONE mean that it's gonna be EXPENSIVE!!
At one point in time, I was contemplating framing these 2 posters together in one frame:

    image

I take my posters to a small locally owned framing shop & they do GREAT quality work!
As a frequent customer, I get a pretty good discount as well.
We picked out a BEAUTIFUL textured frame that looked like snakeskin,
a red acid free matte with a black core & conservation glass!!
With materials and labor...this frame job was going to be close $700.
I MAY do it at some point in the future, but for now, they are still sitting in my portfolio!!
I know that doesn't answer your question, but IT CAN BE DONE!!!

I just dropped off my Brooklyns over the weekend to be framed together for my daughter. I'll post pictures when I get them back.

Edit: And it wasn't as pricey as I thought it would be.

Thanks everyone. I know it will get expensive. I had a 6' x 4' Johnny Cash poster that I had to decide to frame or poster mount a few years ago, I know the glass cost alone was going to be $400. I'm happy with my poster mount even though it's not as fancy. I'll post a picture it in a few minutes. The only problem was getting it home, as it was hard to fit it in the car, and a corner was damaged.

My framer did not seem daunted by the project, so I'm guessing yes. Went with a single mat. Should be done in a few weeks. Them shits need to flatten out. They've been in a tube since the show dates.

I like this and the approach of putting the tickets in the middle. Am unsure if I'm going to put tickets below each poster, but this looks slick.

Does anyone have the Munk One from Sydney framed yet? I just got my print in today and it looks great! Thinking of just doing a black frame + black matte.

Munk isn't shy with his signature, all of the SN stuff I have gotten from him have great signatures. With bold colors.

Especially because of this awesome sig...

I also pretty much always use black... rarely I will use black with a slight color line around the edge, but I usually use those frames for non-concert posters (my Jack White being the exception)

Got my Gold Coast back the other day... These two-sided posters are killing me, but I got the regular and limited S/N versions of this one so that I could display the back (even though I don't particularly care for the poem) I keep trying to take a decent picture, but it just ain't working, so here's... something...

Another double-frame as someone asked about earlier...

That's nuts saying mattes take away from the art. Their primary purpose is to draw your eyes to the image but they are also there to accentuate the frame too with the print. Some people will even say crazy colored frames are a distraction and simple black is the way to go. End of the day, it's all subjective and you have to be happy seeing it everyday. If you really want to see some awesome unique frame/matte combinations, check out peacedogs framing thread over at EB. That guy does some awesome work.

Ive been wanting to frame two of my posters in one frame. Been trying to figure out how I should do it with my moss Zelda's (huge prints though each 20x36). If any of you guys do a double, post 'em up and if you don't mind, the price lol. I'm afraid how much this will set me back.

Mine was just under $300... I believe the width is close to 50"... whatever it is it is wider than the standard size for matting, so my choices were a little bit limited unless I wanted a splice (which I did not) since I needed to get matting that had an oversize option...
