I've never used them before but a lot of people HIGHLY recommend American Frame for affordable mattes...
    Here's the matte webpage:

    Hope that helps :ugeek:

Holy FUCK! That is absolutely stunning

We got a red LB from a fellow board member as a gift and would love to frame it along with our stickers and ticket stubs and my Mike pick too. We will have to do it ourselves and I'm trying to think about how to fix that LP to the mat/ back  I could probably just use double sided tape or something like that... Hm.

I bought it because while I did not actually attend that vancouver show ('09), the poster from the vancouver show I did attend ('11) was absolutely god awful (wolfman lamb boy) and both posters had the same date (9/25) but neither had the year. capisce?
I stand corrected - a moose! Who would have thunk :fp: Makes much more sense than a dog  Pretty cool that you could match the dates

I'm totally breaching the rules of the framed poster thread but I have to share my happiness.

My 17 y/o daughter Alexis is a huge rock music fan and our hobby has been going to rock shows since she was 13 when she cut her teeth in the pit at a Bruce Springsteen show in Hartford. Since that time we've been to countless shows together... including a dozen Bruce shows and six PJ shows (4 on the current tour). One of her favorite bands is System of a Down and her favorite poster of all time is one Emek did for them in 2002...

Long story short, I contacted Emek and he had one that he could sell and that became her big Xmas present.

This post will serve as part 1 of a before/after framing contribution. We'll bring it to the framer on Monday or Tuesday and will post our part 2 in a couple of weeks!

Thanks for humoring a dad who feels like a super Santa this year, with no small thanks to Emek and Co.. :D:D:D

    Thanks, Dave! :D

We certainly will... the last poster I got for her was a couple of years ago from Emek as well, but it was before she was such a huge SOAD fan... we didn't have wall space for it at the time but here's an older pic of that poster from the same framer:

Nice red lacquer frame with a cool chunky floral-like design to it, and the poster is "floating" (i.e., on top of the mat) so that you see its edges. First time I've had one done this way, but it won't be the last.

    The TOOL one is GORGEOUS!!!

This is my favorite EMEK poster:

    SDC11936-1-1.jpg

His Bon Iver from the Santa Barbara Bowl back in '12...I didn't do THIS show, but did see Bon Iver at The Joint at The Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas a few weeks before this show & the poster was just okay:

    IMAG0048-1.jpg

I LOVED the EMEK as soon as I saw it & and was fortunate to pick one up in his online sale...I got #22 of 100.
I also bought an AP of his Coachella poster from this year:

    90f20e4f-4ac3-4026-90f8-4a97065050c1_zps8d6eff13.jpg

I've got EMEK's Monster poster from Wrigley and the Portland poster waiting to be framed!!!

Is there a framing DIY post? There needs to be! I got my MIA poster framed for Xmas last year at Michael's or whatever and it looks great. However, i don't have thousands of dollars to get them all done. With the Ikea frames, how does one go about attaching the poster to the matting?

Thanks, guys. I went into the frame shop with a chunky brown lacquer frame (one that would look like cracker jacks) and more traditional mounting under a red or blue mat in mind, but my framers are really good at what they do, and I generally leave there with a much better frame job than what I had in mind before entering.

My new favorite print. Emek Wrigley floating on real brick, ivy leaves and the frame looks like the beams from Wrigley field. Great show and print deserves top treatment. Haha let me know what you think of the print and my Emek wall?

Love it! The brick in the background and all the ivy is just perfect for this print! Really cool! The wall of Emek is a beauty!

I have two of the ivy clings, so I put them on opposite corners on top of the glass of my Wrigley Emek! Great minds think alike! :D

This would depend on your budget...
I prefer to have mine professionally framed at a locally owned framing shop.
Many people in this thread like to use American Frame & do their own framing projects.
They have a tutorial and also some FAQ's that will walk you thru the steps...
    Here's their website:

    http://www.americanframe.com/

One other piece of advice...the COUPON prices that many "Big Box" framing stores offer are usually not a good value. Their prices are often way to high to begin with and I've heard of many instances where they have damaged posters.
Looking forward to seeing pictures of your finished project!!

Is it strange that I for some reason I want to have my poster displayed?

My thinking is that I would like to have it framed in glass hanging from the ceiling. This poster of the London concert struck me for some reason....

My new favorite print. Emek Wrigley floating on real brick, ivy leaves and the frame looks like the beams from Wrigley field. Great show and print deserves top treatment. Haha let me know what you think of the print and my Emek wall?
