I've actually got a decent collection of PJ posters, but I just started getting them framed. I mainly only get the shows that I go to, but then I try to grab extras here and there if I really like the poster. The Donkey Kong has been my "grail" for a while, and through trading/buying on Lost Dogs, I was able to not only finally score one, but an AP! I just got it back from the frame shop last night... what do you think?

as promised. let me know which mats you like. I'm undecided at this point. the posters are both basically the same size. I may end up double matting the portland in blue and yellow and the spokane in orange and brown.

I really like the blue for Portland. I think it brings out the poster more.

This is the best frame job on the Kong poster that I have seen.

Looks fantastic. I love the matting....... Awesome job!

I like these. The blue mat on Portland brings out the blue in the poster while the focus still remains on the face. I think a gold/yellow mat is overkill and it kinda flattens the image. If you double mat, do the yellow under the blue. Or if you could find a blue mat with a yellow core, that might be nice.
The orange on Spokane really livens up the colors of the cars. The brown makes it seem dull.

Thanks for the compliments on the Donkey Kong with the bright blue matting!

The goal was to make the frame remind me of the old Donkey Kong stand up arcade machines. I really like how it came out!

thanks for all your opinions

it was pretty evenly split on the portland poster. people who saw them in person, voted blue. they both looked decent. I still may do an under mat in yellow.

that would be a moose ;)

I bought it because while I did not actually attend that vancouver show ('09), the poster from the vancouver show I did attend ('11) was absolutely god awful (wolfman lamb boy) and both posters had the same date (9/25) but neither had the year. capisce?

After reading about the poster tubes being DEATH to these wonderful works of art that we all love in here I decided I should get mine out and flatten them a bit. However, now I need a portfolio to stash them in...anybody got any good online suggestions?

I know, I know...put them in a frame right? Well, I know you all know how expensive that can be. They just need a safe home until I have some money...

I have a similar scene in the extra bedroom at my place. Working on getting the posters flattened and then I'll find a decent priced portfolio to store them in.
