fair point and I can see where you are coming from, but he probably payes his taxes and maybe supports charity, there has to be something for him in life too...
Sure there are many people in the world in need of help, sadly that 2k will make little difference in the grand scheme of things as its virtually impossible to get it the places in need and not the big fancy offices of the chairites in london and New york etc.
To put it into perspective too, Roman Abramovic recently paid £20million for a bloody painting, now that kinda cash could make a difference....and a chuffing painting of all things??
I understand. It's just that these things makes me think, how that money could have been spend elsewhere.
Don't get me wrong. I'm not huge on making charity donations, but I do what I can by making annual donations to Red Cross, Medicines sans frontiers and so on.
Recently read an old article about a soccer match between Denmark and Brazil. Don't remember all the figures, but there were so many star players running around that their combined value was way above the entire state budget of an african country!! (can't remember which one)
Anyways, didn't wanna turn this into a Moving train thread.
Come to think of it, do you think that the buyer would share this item, like upload it as a torrent? That would be charity!!

I try and do my bit for the wwf - and just hope my money hits the right places....
As for the buyer sharing the item, there would be little point, its virtually identical to ten, just a test pressing, very close inspection reveals minor differences such as one second between tracks etc, full details being given on the twofeetthick article.
But really its just Ten, but without the artwork with a scrawled on handmade sleeve, odd isnt it that its worth sio much and I really really want one???
Didnt get to sleep until gone 1.30am, was bouncing off the walls into the early hours, totally estatic and elated....the highs and lows of life were right there over the space of 2 mins.....
Wow what an evening, still kinda amazed by it all now....almost as good as being at a PJ gig
Cant wait for the street parade when they bring that baby home again....
and congrats to you and your pal witht the reeenk sale.....excellent price...
Gonna take part in a volunteer program. Will be working in a school and an animal shelter for a few weeks to help out. Was suppose to be there by now, but our papers never seem to be in order! Takes forever.....
how on earth did you get involved in that and how do you make it pay the overheads back home....the animal part I would be in for like a shot, always wanted to do something to help out down there....
No pay.. We are actually paying for the trip out of our own pocket.... We get free shelter for a month, so the travel expenses can be considered our rent. The girl Im travelling with has done this twice before so that is how I got involved.
Call it a mid twenties crysis, always wanted to do something like this and have been talking about it for a long time. I feel now it time to put my money where my mouth is and actually go through with it:-)
Maybe Reenky will help cover the costs!!! Can you imagine what ebay are gonna charge you on that!!!
ah well, still worth it,
as for the trip, top man, you'll have a blast and make a difference at the same time, can't have more than that can you??
working with the animals out there would be something I would take so much pride in, they are so totally exposed, targeted and 'disposable' it irks me. Would love to get over there and get my hands dirty, especially with some kind of elephant rehabilitation work (take my hat off to the people who dedicate their lives to that) and the gorilla patrols in Virunga, or the rwandan borders (again hats off to those guys, I did ask them if they do volunteers out of interest and they cannot due to the danger of the war and the specialisms of their work). All incredible people, if I didnt have so many commitments I'd be out there with you.
There you go! I bet you can do miracles to your post tally when Im gone:-)
But being realistic, im not to sure the trip will happen.. There are so many obsticles for us, not only getting there and back, but alot of paperwork is still not finalized! The planning for this trip started back in january.... we'll see what happens. In the meantime Im gonna work hard to cover both my poster addicition and overheads:-)
