You are right, the cd itself is pretty much worthless. HOWEVER, the sleeve that holds it is not...:D....look outside the box my friend...;)

are you a collector of anything? the reason this thing is so crazy is rarity, plain and simple. they couldn't have pressed more than a couple of hundred of the cds in the first place. in the 17+ years since then, however many total of them were ever signed, only a dozen or so can be identified by the collector community. now, that doesn't mean there aren't more....there might actually have been as many as a hundred originally done. but with attrition, people who wound up with them on the promo end that gave them to some girl who threw it away, or who just put them in the circular file on day one...even if after all this time with the internet and the article and the collectors sites and ebay, even if after all that there's still 3 times as many still out there that haven't been accounted for, that would still be a grand total of less than 50 that were hand-done by ed and jeff. if you break it down even further, there's probably a 3 to 1 jeff to ed ratio....and this is pearl jam we're talking about. you can say it's just a cd, but then you're sitting here posting on a fan message board for that very same band, how geeky is that?

just imagine if there had been a similar test pressing of the rolling stones first album, that mick and keith and david jones all did hand-drawn shit on the cover of 50 or less of them....would you say that was "just a worthless record"?

or maybe it's just me. honestly, if mine ever gets sold, it'll be due to total, last-option catastrophe, or my kid will sell it after i'm dead....

well. long after youre dead the cd will have degraded so it's unlistenable. cds will have long since fallen off the face of the earth (stack it right next to dvds and laser discs).

inside joke with the band at the time, when someone screwed up they'd go "wah wah" and that evolved into "reeenk roink" and thats what they wrote on the test pressings or early pressings of ten. or so im told.

Anyone who doesnt understand the Reeenks clearly has no idea about collecitng PJ, its the number one item - its the dogs bollocks, its the centre peice of ANY PJ collection, the sparkling jewel in the crown. It is THE essential PJ article. There is nothing better at all. I would fucking love one, and if I had a spare 5k I'd buy it in an instant.

Although Scott, with yours signed by Jeff, I'd buy yours in a dicky for ten if I had it!!! admired yours on twofeetthick for a few years now.....

THANKS!! Def my favorite pc. When Jeff saw it, he was actually a little blown away and had even commented that he wasnt sure if HE still had one. Said it was one of the coolest things he's ever had a chance to sign and also said that he didnt think he had ever signed one, which is why he wrote what he did.

I must say that he and his gal are two of the nicest people I have ever met. So down to earth and just genuinely cool. I have met them 3-4 times now and each time after the first, they have remember me by name.
