Remember all the shows in 2024? Why do you think PJ has to tour 60+ shows every year?mcgruff10 said:
You are so right. Pearl Jam is by far my favorite band but they are such a lazy band when it comes to touring. I mean 11 shows this past spring and that's it?!josevolution said:
Some bands do 12 shows to warm up before a big tourmcgruff10 said:
yeah if you compare pearl jam to pearl jam you are absolutely right. but how said is it that 12 shows a year on average is considered hitting the us "hard"?Ryan said:
Check out home many shows in the US they played from 2015-2019. 2016 was the only year in there that had a proper tour of the US.mcgruff10 said:
they've played 93 times live since covid. Of those 93 shows 60 have been in the US (12 us shows average a year since covid). That's hardly "hard."Ryan said:I think it’s a while before PJ tours the States. They’ve hit the US hard since covid.
Maybe some one-offs like 2011, 2012 but I doubt they tour the States again until they have a new record.
I think South America, Canada and maybe Europe get shows before the US and that’s how they spend 2026 and / or 2027.They can easily do 8-12 shows in SA, Canada and EU/UK.
2022 and 2024 I believe had the most shows in calendar years since 2006. That’s “going hard” by the standard they set.0 -
I hope Matt leaving allows the show times and amount of shows to creep back up. I would go to Buenos Aires next fall/winter…just saying2003: Uniondale, MSG x2 | 2004: Reading | 2005: Gorge, Vancouver, Philly | 2006: East Rutherford x2, Gorge x2, Camden 1, Hartford | 2008: MSG x2, VA Beach | 2009: Philly x3 | 2010: MSG x2, Bristow | 2011: Alpine Valley x2 | 2012: MIA Philly | 2013: Wrigley, Charlottesville, Brooklyn 2 | 2014: Milan, Amsterdam 1 | 2016: MSG x2, Fenway x2, Wrigley 2 | 2018: Rome, Krakow, Berlin, Wrigley 2 | 2021: Sea Hear Now | 2022: San Diego, LA x2, MSG, Camden, Nashville, St. Louis, Denver | 2023: St. Paul 1, Chicago x2, Fort Worth x2, Austin 2 | 2024: Las Vegas 1, Seattle x2, Indy, MSG x2, Philly x2, Baltimore, Ohana 2 | 2025: Florida x2, Atlanta x2, Pittsburgh x20

I mean they played 37 shows in 2024; would you consider working 37 days in a year for a band a lot? No one mentioned or expects 60+ shows.clemsongolfer8 said:

Love how people think being in a band is just like a 9-5 job. And you complained about how many shows they played this year. How many do you want them to play to make you happy?mcgruff10 said:

I would love that, but I'd be surprised. They've already trained the fan base to accept 23 song, 2 hr 20 min, shows, so why work harder than they need to? But they didn't have to play 33 song sets in 2013 but chose to do it anyway, so anything is possible.HailHailVitalogy said:I hope Matt leaving allows the show times and amount of shows to creep back up. a bunch of dates each year is way better than no dates at all0

Anyone heard any rumors about a new drummer (who/when)? Would obv influence when/if there might be shows. That's probably in another thread, but navigating these boards isn't what it used to be.I've seen quite a few Pearl Jam shows.0

They don’t just teleport around the world. A lot of travel and time away from home to do those 37 shows. Of course most of us would trade places with them but it’s not just the 2.5 hour shows that go into being in PJ.mcgruff10 said:

I think we know all this but again, would you say 37 shows in a year is a lot for a band?ComeToTX said:

Nothing. Zip. I'll take even a breadcrumb of info. It's fun to speculate though.ddeschler said:Anyone heard any rumors about a new drummer (who/when)? at their age hopefully maybe realize time is short /not take years off like 2017 2019
wish they did more but one leg 2023 2025 better than nothing
really would love to see a residency at this point /seattle is fine maybe 3 or 4 shows just because why not
but not holding my breath

I fear tickets are going to become a lot harder to get and a lot more expensive when they do go back out. Fewer shows, higher demand, fear that it’s the band’s last run, etc.
