My likely unpopular opinion…corduroy should be played at every concert. Can replace even flow
Agreed.
I’d even love switching up the placement of songs like even flow alive and corduroy. Even flow would work in Alives spot. I always thought coming out of mikes solo the buildup to that final chorus would be perfect to turn the house lights on. Alive ending main set would be awesome.
Change is good, for sure. Indifference to open in StP back in ‘23 was awesome, but otoh, F’ing Up pre-encore at Fenway last year made me nervous that they were ending the show early. 🤣
I loved the show. i thought the energy of Ed and the band was electric. Ed’s voice was so crisp and on!!! Although i had hoped to hear a few other songs, I thought the setlist was perfect given the location of the venue.. the sound in the hard rock ( where we were -303) was perfect. agree with the comments about people talking as a loudmouth behind us talked nonstop… but i was so busy singing at the top on my lungs and dancing that i stopped paying attention to them! yes lots were seated, but to each their own, as long as they enjoy the show and don’t tell me to sit down then im good ( would love to have them join in but you can’t force it)
i will be heading to 2 more shows on this tour, looking forward to each setlist, and to the absolute high i get just being in the same room with PJ.. hope to see you there!
GlowGirl - Great pics. Thank you from those that weren't as lucky last night.

I had a different experience. Not to be a party pooper but I thought the crowd was bleh. Most of the 200s and 300s sitting. My section, 117 towards the back, didn’t move…at all. In fact there were ROWS of people who left in the middle of Porch. Everyone talking during songs…ugh. Also, maybe because I was under the overhang, but the sound was muddy to me. Mind you I was off to the side of the venue but still. Not my ideal setlist either. It’s pretty amazing how people at the same show can have different experiences.
That said, Ed sounded great. Definitely noticed the small new differences in production. Amongst the Waves, Footsteps, Crazy Mary, Baba, and Setting Sun were my highlights. That was such a good version of Footsteps. I absolutely loved SS last night too, that was a pretty heavy second half of the song. Really looking forward to Saturday in GA.
I was down in GA which always feels like high energy from a crowd perspective (hail hail the lucky ones!) and Thurs. was no different. I hear you on the "seated" crowd - lots of talk of folks sitting, to each his own I suppose but that is lame. My wife and her friend were in 117 too. I know they were up and jumping around (at least that's what they told me, but I find out they were sitting there will be hell to pay!)
Anyway, loved the show! Probably the best version of Corduroy I've heard in 10 years (although Boston 2 last year was a proper version and amazing, but Saturday's rocked a little harder and just stratospheric for me). Crazy Mary really hit me too and the rest of the set very, very solid. Amazing room and loved seeing Setting Sun in the final spot again, but I don't need that every show necessarily (the more and more I listen to that tune, it's really one of their best examples of nearly perfect songwriting - and it only gets better). Other highlights for me were Oceans (always a highlight when you get it), Deep, Down, FOOTSTEPS, Won't Tell and the Lukin sing-along part from the pit crushed. Loved the venue and our little post-show circle bar PJ sing-along crew (until nearly 2 am...) was PEAK tour fam memories @apkirkland@Sugarloafer04 / let's run this back!
PS - if anyone has a spare pair for tonight, please hit up @apkirkland!

Section 205 was rocking on Thursday night! Plus the post show circle bar sing along was an absolute blast!
Let’s do it again tonight!

Gah! Thank you for looking out for us, buddy! I just wrote up a long fanview for Thursday's show but then it disappeared when I went to obsessively check TM, FB, the Porch, and all the other places I'm scouring to try to find tix to tonight's show. Once I can concentrate, I'll pop back on here and write about our (amazing) experience at the incredible Hard Rock venue. But, for now, the hunt for tix to tonight's show continues. Appreciate everyone who's looking out for us right now!
I traveled down from Philly for these shows. Night one was a solid, enjoyable Pearl Jam show. Sneaky good set for my tastes if not spectacular. Slow burn for night one and tour leg in general perhaps. I liked the flow of the encore set with Footsteps and Crazy Mary and Setting Sun (like it as a closer). Cool venue and very good sound up in 303. The top balcony section was steep with good sight lines and no overhang impacting sound. I am on the floor tonight (and perfectly content to go late and hang in back or back half).
The band sounded great and looked engaged and well rested.
As for the crowd and energy level, it was OK. Fine. Lackluster at times for PJ standards (not all standing…..especially during deeper cuts and even DM new-ish songs). Found that annoying and somewhat impacted the vibe of the show for me (just somewhat!…I was in my own world and into it). To be expected I guess for a southeast/FL show in an area they haven’t played in a decade. Certainly dull by northeast standards (yes, I am spoiled). Shows in PJ hotbeds of Philly, NYC and Boston are so much better and incomparable crowd-wise. And that is why I will always hit those shows and mix in some travel like this now and then.
That’s it. Excited for Night 2 and different vantage point on the floor. And then 2 shows for me in Pittsburgh at the end of this leg.
1998 (2): Washington DC - Tibetan Freedom Fest 6/14 and Camden NJ night 2 on 8/29; 2003 (1): Camden NJ night 1 on 7/5; 2004 (1): Reading PA 10/1; 2005 (1): Philly 10/3; 2006 (1): Camden NJ night 2 on 5/28; 2008 (2): Camden NJ nights 1 and 2 on 6/19 and 6/20; 2009 (3): Philly Spectrum shows nights 1, 3, and 4 on 10/27, 10/30, and 10/31; 2012 (1): Philly MIA Festival 9/2; 2013 (2): Philly nights 1 and 2 on 10/21 and 10/22; 2016 (4): Philly nights 1 and 2 on 4/28 and 4/29; Boston - Fenway Park nights 1 and 2 on 8/5 and 8/7; 2018 (3): London UK 6/18 and Boston - Fenway Park nights 1 and 2 on 9/2 and 9/4; 2022 (1): Camden NJ 9/14; 2023 (2): Austin TX nights 1 and 2 on 9/18 and 9/19; 2024 (4) New York MSG night 2 on 9/4; Philly nights 1 and 2 on 9/7 and 9/9; Baltimore MD 9/12.
Does anybody know the last time they played a show that had none of the following? Black, Jeremy, Betterman, Daughter, Elderly Woman, Given to Fly…
Of the 30-ish shows I’ve seen, HoB Orlando is the only one not to feature any of those songs. And every other show has featured at least 2.
The show was solid and the band is in great form. But I’m kind of hoping we get more of the big guns for N2 with deep cuts and rarities interspersed between. Probably in the minority here, but I love when the whole room is singing along at the top of their lungs.
