🚨The report of Trump’s team plotting a fake national emergency to take over elections should be a five-alarm fire. But the only outlets I’ve seen reporting on this:

Personally I think it’s just a stupid idea, but whatever. The larger issue is the cost for something that’s unnecessary, when the people who voted for him supposedly wanted grocery and energy prices to drop. This doesn’t seem to reflect fiscal responsibility.  

This is where I am at (Well I didn’t vote for him). It’s just a bad look. 

But I get the outrage too. Without any sort of oversight, he’s just doing this. It feeds the narrative of him having unchecked powers. And then you add in his and his peoples troll-yness of a third term and it not being done until the end of his term, it leaves people feeling uneasy. 

I’m not outraged about it. Changes happen to the White House occasionally (and it’s not even the original White House), but I’m fine if people are bothered too.

To each their own. I think it's outrageous.

(I also see the irony of adding opulence to a room essentially nobody will go into when people voted him in because of the high cost of eggs. Those Trump voters that are not too far gone should really be put off by this. Not sure how many voters get that label, though.)

I honestly don't know how anyone can watch what's going on and think he's serving anyone but himself.

no question they are going to try something to keep him or vance (if trump's health finally gets him) in office. they really aren't even trying to deny it.  he's not tearing down the east wing and putting up a ballroom for a Dem President in 2028 to use.

The way I see it, they know Trump won't be able to be healthy enough to be in power much longer but if they weaken the voting system and keep pushing the narrative that the "left" (aka democrats) are a terrorist movement the national emergency will be removing or banning them from holding office or being on ballots so the ticket will be straight Republicans or those in small parties with no money or resources. The ballroom will hold the celebration of long term Republican rule until the country comes to its sense in about 10 years after the rest of our allies turn on us when we continue to violate international law by waging guerilla warfare across the globe in the name of national security.

Let that sink in.

Sounds like the normalization of extra judicial killings has begun. Less outrage and a “meh” when it’s a tractor trailer full of migrants or a bus full of No Kings protestors on their way to DC to encircle the White House, eh? Donald Trump is arming his masked immigration agents with increasingly lethal weapons.

President Donald Trump is reportedly spending millions more on weapons for his masked militia descending on American cities—who will now have access to “guided missile warheads.” 

Independent journalist Judd Legum reported Monday that between Trump’s inauguration and October 18, Immigration and Customs Enforcement has increased weapons spending by 700 percent compared to the same period last year. In the last nine months, ICE has spent a whopping $71,515,762 on purchases of “small arms, ordnance and ordnance accessories manufacturing.”

“Small arms” include armor, explosives, chemical weapons, pistols, and rifles. “Ordnance and ordnance accessories manufacturing” refers to other materials, such as artillery, barrels, extractors, and mounts. 

For comparison, in 2019, ICE spent just $5.7 million on the “small arms” category through October 18, and during Trump’s first administration, the government spent an average of $8.4 million per year. 

While most of the spending was on guns and armor, Legum reported that ICE had also purchased “guided missile warheads and explosive components.” So while Trump has backed off selling Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine, it seems he’s more than happy to arm his immigration authorities with lethal projectiles. It’s not immediately clear what part of a good-faith deportation operation would involve localized destruction and murder—but that’s because no such thing exists.

Clearly, Trump has plans to ramp up his federal immigration crackdown, which has gone hand-in-hand with his federal takeover of American cities. In Chicago, federal agents have conducted violent arrests of U.S. citizens and journalists, fired a pepper ball at a faith leader, unleashed tear gas on police, and shot two people, killing a father of two.

While bolstering his private army, Trump is planning to eliminate funding for SNAP benefits—starting four days ago.

See, everyone? This is how normalization begins. Reference to a hypothetical No Kings rally around the White House is a “threat.” Rather than the extrajudicial killings and militarized police actions against US citizens that are occurring in reality. We’re so fucked.

It's too hard

It's not too hard for you. 

Unplug from all the madness. Listen to some familiar tunes that bring you comfort. Discover new music to keep things fresh. Volunteer at a place that interests you. Rediscover a hobby that you loved, but stopped doing or look for something new that interests you where you are now. Make sure to eat as healthy as you can and sleep as well as you can. Go for walks and look around for the things that are beautiful. They are there. 

Lean on those around you and be there for people who need you.
