That sounds like America needs a 3rd party that absorbs both moderate dems and moderate repubs and alienates the far left and right?

so it can divide the electorate even further?

in normal times i would support it. but these are not normal times. there are no guardrails on trump, and a single opposition party is the only thing that could help to reign him in after the midterms next year.

Trump is already a dictator. He does whatever he wants with no recourse or accountability from the judiciary because the SCOTUS gave him carte blanche and congress/senate have no spine to stand up for the people and this country.
    It's a hopeless situation...

Absolutely. It might not be officially official, but it is where we are. He is unchecked.

If somehow, we have free and fair elections and the balance of power ships back over the next two cycles in theory, we could get out of this with four years of unofficial dictatorship.

to me, however, what is happening to the White House right now is the turning point. This is not the action of a person, family, or party that is going to leave. MAGA and the GOP are not doing this to relinquish power in 2026 or 2028.

They have the mainstream media, most of the fringe media, most corporations, and just enough of the voters to achieve what they wanted to from day one in 2016. It’s over.

I’ve been saying this for months everything he’s doing is not so the next president can just undo them! It’s being done by someone who’s not planning on leaving! Elections 😂😂 there’s no going back to business as usual

I mean, all the fucking gold. Yuck! What a tacky look. That rendering for the ballroom might as well be what the inside of King Tuts sarcophagus looked like. He should just ask Egypt to let him move in to a pyramid.

I don't think it will even be possible to undo what he's changed without it costing millions. I mean, renovations and updates can be done so they improve or update on old style/design, but what he's doing is ridiculous. They should just burn the fucker down if he ever moves out.

Is the new ballroom where the MMA fight sponsored by Bitcoin and Draft Kings will be held to celebrate the 250th anniversary of being a country still trying to become civilized?

Personally I think it’s just a stupid idea, but whatever. The larger issue is the cost for something that’s unnecessary, when the people who voted for him supposedly wanted grocery and energy prices to drop. This doesn’t seem to reflect fiscal responsibility.

For the same reason you would be if Biden were doing this.

He's literally smashing a national landmark to pieces in order to change it to reflect his own image. He's treating like it's his house and not the property of the public and the country.

At best, he's shitting on our heritage (you know, like you all accuse people of doing for taking down confederate statues) and irrevocably destroying national symbols because he does not give a damn.

And if you don't see the "I'm never leaving" message, I don't know what to tell you.

They wanted a dictator. They wanted to own the libs. They don't ever have to vote again.

Oh believe me, I could go on about why these dipshits got hoodwinked, whether willingly or otherwise. And I take everything they say with a pound of salt, as I don’t believe they’re intellectually honest nor consistent. But money seemed to matter to them.

Lets go line by line shall we?

For the same reason you would be if Biden were doing this. You have me confused with someone else.

He's literally smashing a national landmark to pieces in order to change it to reflect his own image. He's treating like it's his house and not the property of the public and the country. I see your point. Usually a landmark is protected.  I am guessing this wasn't actually a registered landmark?

At best, he's shitting on our heritage (you know, like you all accuse people of doing for taking down confederate statues) and irrevocably destroying national symbols because he does not give a damn. I don't see the east wing as a National Symbol nor do I see those statues as one either.

And if you don't see the "I'm never leaving" message, I don't know what to tell you. I don't see that as it.  He would have to do some crazy stuff to get another term. Considering he just put up an idea for term limits in other branches of government he would be extremely hypocritical for doing so.  I know he wouldn't give a shit but I don't think he will and I want to be right about that.

Edit: I am adding to this.  If I am reading right, the Whitehouse is a National Park, not sure about the wing.

If that wing is part of it then he most certainly did not have the authority or right to tear it down.

    I'll dig a little deeper.

He said that he and some donors are fitting the bill.  It is a bad optic when the govt has people not working.  That I see as piss poor.

Footing the bill out of devotion and love for the US of A? That’s very kind of them.

They released the list of grovelers, ahem, I mean donors, today. It's just open bribes to seek favor at a later date. The corruption is deep. Most of the wealthy have already lined up to bow down and kiss the ring. Don't you see that?

Next, the DOJ will be "donating" 230 million to the project because Trump was wronged so bad. Prices have stayed high, millions are out of work and the president is taking in billions from across the globe. It's insanity, except it's reality and people keep signing up to join in because they see the benefits without consequence daily. Meanwhile, dumbass citizens watch and cheer it on like it's some kind of way to make America great. Idiotic.

it won't be completed until 2028, shortly before his term is supposed to end.
