What am I wrong about? The fact that a large corporate donor can get a tax exception bill sponsored and passed in 5 days leading to a windfall of profits while someone trying to get another human rights bill passed without a sponsor sits out in the cold?0 -

Washington has been that way for a long time. It is just more obvious now.*The following opinion is mine and mine alone and does not represent the views of my family, friends, government and/or my past, present or future employer. US Department of State: 1-888-407-4747.
Sure. Both sides are the same. It’s always been like this. Nothing to see here nor be concerned about. Just same old-same old. Good fucking lord.
If you need any assistance with realizing how fucked up things are and how wrong this take is, I suggest you head on over to the Letter From An American thread. I’m sure denial is a river in Egypt, eh?
Things have been fucked up for a long time. Nothing in Washington surprises me. It has been corrupt for decades. It is a dirty business. Even the good ones line their pockets. Now we have a slumlord president that knows he can do what he wants and that he will answer to the courts years down the road. SCOTUS ruling? Yeah I will just find another statute to tax businesses. 10% on all imports from all countries. Four days after the SCOTUS ruling. He had this in the hopper. There is no denial. Pretend that government is altruistic. It is not.*The following opinion is mine and mine alone and does not represent the views of my family, friends, government and/or my past, present or future employer. US Department of State: 1-888-407-4747.
Care to point out the fucked-uppedness, level of corruption that equals what we see now and name the “good ones” who line their pockets? What previous administration violated the constitution to this extent or appointed incompetence to this level?
And I sure as hell don't consider "getting nothing done" on par with the current kleptocracy / budding dictatorship.
Lipstick on a pig. Different but the same abuse of power. And like it or not, Trump is getting things done although it does skirt the boundaries of legality. Even if you hate everything he is doing. Calling it objectively. He set objectives and is doing something about it. And to be clear, I do not agree with his tactics. I am not a Trump supporter, but I do have some appreciation for a President that is taking action and not waiting around for congress.
All I said was at least he is doing something. I never said Obama was corrupt. In fact he had no idea how Washington works. First term Senator with no clue. Maybe Chicago taught him some things, but not enough for DC.0 -

if it was so bad, why have the gop not fixed it or replaced it with "something beautiful" at every turn??
either it sucks too bad to be fixed, or the gop is so inept, or better yet, cares so little, that they won't fix it or replace it.
So where is my national healthcare? Like Canada or Japan? Obamacare failed. Why am I still paying $2000 a month for health insurance? Even after corporate subsidies? If you do not have company sponsored healthcare in the US, you might not receive care. The GOP or the Dems won't fix it because the healthcare and pharma lobby is too strong. talk to the republicans, buddy. the dems wanted medicare for all. then aca with a public option. gop said those were non starters. obama passed what he could get passed. again, blame the gop for your sky high out of pocket costs. it would be much, much worse for you without the aca.Get_Right said:gimmesometruth27 said:

Saying skirt the boundaries of legality isn’t objective at all. He’s violating the law on several fronts, and he’s also supposed to “wait around”’ for Congress, per the ConstitutionGet_Right said:OnWis97 said:

Clinton. Considered a good politician. And a very, very smart man. I have met him several times and have never met another man with the amount of knowledge he has. But he was impeached. Left office with millions he did not have before. Blow jobs in the oval office. And his carpetbagger wife taking in more NY donations. Obama. Got nothing done. He was elected because he was a good speaker. Politicians take care of donors, friends and special interests. Federalist paper No. 10 has come to life. Politicians are a joke and it is all a facade. James Madison got it right.Halifax2TheMax said:Get_Right said:Halifax2TheMax said:Get_Right said:Tim Simmons said:I'm constantly blown away that most of the admin is made up of a bunch of weenies who just do stuff because they want to be liked and popular by dweebs on the internet who like energy drinks and anime porn.
I am not a Trump supporter, but I do have some appreciation for a President that is taking action and not waiting around for congress.0 -

so obama was POTUS for 8 years and he didn't have a clue, but "I worked in DC" so you know it all? that's rich.Get_Right said:OnWis97 said:
A successful career-burglar gets stuff done too. If you think Obama being ineffective is corrupt on par with the billions the Trumps have made over the first two terms, using the FCC to squash descent, ignoring subpoenas, ignoring court rulings, demanding voting rolls to federalize elections, then I guess we're not really at a starting point to even discuss this.Get_Right said:OnWis97 said:

All I said was at least he is doing something. I never said Obama was corrupt. In fact he had no idea how Washington works. First term Senator with no clue. Maybe Chicago taught him some things, but not enough for DC.
we're not arguing HOW it currently is in Washington, we're arguing that's how it shouldn't be. Those are two different things. We understand reality. We just don't think getting things done for the sake of getting things done, no matter what those things are, makes a good president.Your boos mean nothing to me, for I have seen what makes you cheer0 -
