Again, most of these people contribute to the economy and are a net benefit to the US. Who cares how they got here or what their status is. Kick out the bad ones? Sure. Better enforce the border? Certainly. Punish those that crossed the line and are here living trying to get by? Nah.

If you’ve been waiting in line for years for your chance, and their actions pushed you back years, you might care how they got here.
I don’t see any Americans waiting in line to cut lawns to cut down trees to clean houses to wait tables! What are Americans waiting in line for except to get a Chickfillet?
I always hear that, but that just depends on where you live. When I was in California, that was true most of the time (except the waiting tables, always plenty of white people doing that). Colorado, was about 50/50.
Where I live now, most people I see cleaning houses and doing lawn care are white.
Yeah where is that? Here in Red Long Island it’s all the Spanish people doing those jobs period!

Interesting article about how the tea leaves show that a lot of the immigration stuff from the past year has been BS and that the tides are turning against blanket deportation and the political rmifica5ions for 26 and 28

    https://newrepublic.com/article/203092/trump-fox-laura-ingraham-shocking-on-air-brawl

TLDR: Dems successes in the 25 elections are rooted in the over extension of the Trump admin in regards to deportations (noted that even Trump is walking back some of the rhetoric). The article posits that white working class Americans and are grossed out by the over extension and that schisms in MAGA are forming because of it.

Here’s the deeper point: Lots of people overread the immigration-related significance of Trump’s 2024 victory. They looked at voter dissatisfaction with the state of the border under President Joe Biden and discerned an almost seismic cultural reaction to immigration levels inside the country. The former was very real. The latter has turned out to be a mirage.

Polls that ask nuanced questions about who should be deported find broad opposition to the removal of longtime residents with no criminal records. Very large majorities have reaffirmed support for immigration as a positive good for the country. The “nativist backlash” is mostly hype: There’s been no serious cultural shift toward wanting far fewer immigrants in the country, and if anything the culture has broadly recoiled against this, now that Trump is actually attempting it.

Nothing wrong with a breakfast taco! Especially if made by an immigrant.

Rachel Maddow is not far left. If general you think so you might be a conservative.

    That's what I was thinking.

NYPD was called to the scene yesterday after getting reports of armed people pulling people out of cars.
A scuffle ensues.  2 officers were injured in the scuffle.

The armed people ended up being ICE officers.

This isn't going to end well if they show up unannounced like this.  Someone is going to get shot...
