Sounds like a sane immigration policy that was effective, didn’t violate the constitution, was within the confines of the law and didn’t require the national guard or masked, jack booted thugs snatching people off the street and deporting them to third party countries without due process. While the Obama administration record is characterized by much higher removals than preceding administrations, it also shows less focus on increasing absolute numbers of overall deportations and a higher priority on targeting the removals of recently arrived unauthorized immigrants and criminals. The administration also placed a much lower priority on removing those who had established roots in U.S. communities and had no criminal records. This prioritization was achieved by a slowly evolving but deliberate policy, highlighted by the administration’s November 2014 executive actions on immigration.

Whatever eases your conscience. All I know is 3+ million of the “other” ultimately got booted, put in cages, separated, snatched from their job, etc., and nobody outside of immigrant advocates had much to say about it back then. For the record, that administration was the last that showed they had any idea of how to handle what most of you thought wasn’t even an issue prior to 2/7/24. The last 10 years have been a masterclass in how not to approach immigration and border security.

I said his admin was the last to have a clue, but it was far from perfect, and you know everything I listed is true. It’s not a one for one exact comparison, just a reminder of a time you were okay with mass deportations. You know trump is trying his hardest to dethrone the champ.

Looking back I definitely didn't give Obama as much praise I I should have for his border.

And I also didn't give GW enough credit for his proposal that he couldn't get done.

No, Cincy. They’re the objective ones. To be fair, that was in a time when adults didn’t stare at their phones all day long allowing algorithms to continually feed their bias.

To further separate the two dem administrations from the two CCOOTWH ones, both Obama and Brandon tried extremely hard to work with Congress on immigration reform, Obama with DACA and Brandon with a bill torpedoed by CCOOTWH because an election was approaching and Herr Miller lusted for cruelty. But sure same-same.

One example of 5 restaurants, after a two year investigation, breaking the law, versus Phd students being snatched off the street, masked/armed thugs rolling up and grabbing people and national guard troops picking up litter in our nation’s capital and LA. Fucking stupid.
