Now do the ones from legals...see how that works?
The point is that these incidents don't happen if they're not allowed in the country to begin with so any counter you make about the amount committed by US citizens isn't on the same level. The argument is better border security prevents this from ever happening because they don't get in to begin with. The argument about the number of citizens also doing this is separate and is also an issue that should be dealt with. Both are a problem.
    It's a hopeless situation...

The point is the right constantly misrepresents this as illegals committing more/more serious crimes than citizens. People rightly push back on that.

I get that and I think it's a trap that liberals step in when they try to make the counter point that gern did. Don't let them pigeon hole you in to seemingly shrugging off crime caused by illegals just because the crime is more frequently committed by non-illegals/immigrants. Redirect that both issues are a problem and point out that they should likewise be outraged by the senseless deaths caused even when not an illegal and push for broader reforms to prevent them.

there's really no "trap" as I see it. People respond to fear, especially fear of the "other". You can do what you said until you're blue in the face, people will react harder to the "other". People are more fearful of a hardworking mexican family that minds their own business and pays taxes than a billionaire that wouldn't piss on you if you were on fire. And might even start the fire.

I've said it a million times-democrats are constantly swimming upstream because it's nearly impossible to fight fear and disinformation.

I didn't step in anything. Crime is crime...whether legal or illegal. The system is working if an illegal is nabbed...illegals will come in this country under trump and commit crimes.

You seem to have stepped into maga nonsense.

Seems logical to me. The vast majority of people couldn’t care less about the identity of criminals, they just want less crime. It's explaining this to the political homers who think they’re the majority because they spend their time online in a perpetual loop of seeking confirmation bias that's the bigger problem. The focus should be on policies that have shown to be effective rather than partisan blame.

No, I mean like republicans and democrats. I’m not of the belief that in our duopoly one side or the other is infallible. Are you?
