There is no reason a Canadian citizen should not come to the US to see Pearl Jam. Stop fear mongering. Go see the show!
Some people are scared of border agents and ICE.  The merits of that can be debated.

Others are boycotting and choosing to spend their money at home.  That’s not fear.

OK so skip a show to make a point that nobody will notice. Just saying, Canadians really have nothing to worry about. ICE is not worried about Canadians. They are worried about people coming through Canada from other countries. Have a Canadian passport and you will be fine.

There was that unfortunate incident when the actress tried to enter from Mexico on an expired visa. That was a double oops by her.

I get the concern, but if visas and passports up to date, should be fine. The whole hate America has got to stop, guess who are American? Hint, their names are at the top of the page. And most of us on here have as much to do with the unfortunate situation we are in if not less. If anything, this is a red state tour so the disapproval should be at those states and why are they being rewarded, lol. This topic bound to be closed or moved soon anyway.

    This is inherently false.
There are more and more stories of Canadians not being allowed in. For simple reasons like being told they weren't traveling with enough luggage.
Couldn't or didn't prove that they have anchors like a hown a home, hav3 a job, Canadian bank accounts, etc..

Yes, there are reasons. It's not fear mongering - just reality.
I will not enter the USA now, for perfectly good reasons.

This is how I feel too based on how my other recent trips have been but I understand others feeling differently. The only reason I’m not trying to add Florida or Pittsburgh shows is the state of the Cdn $. It’s cheaper to go to Japan than to the US right now which is mind boggling.

It is certainly not cheaper to go to Japan from the US. But if you can get to Japan cheaper, than I highly recommend it.
Flights cost more of course but everything else once there is cheaper at the moment for our $
Guy at work was just teasing me showing me online how we could’ve done Tokyo Disney trip instead of Cali and saved $ overall 😂
🤷‍♂️ We had a great time though & everything was booked & paid for ages ago other than food so wouldn’t have changed a thing.

Single digits. Most people have no issues. Yes there might be increased enforcement. Come and go see a show. No problem.

My brother and I will travel down from the GTA to the PA shows. I don't disrespect those passing up their trip, but life is too short.  I don't blame Americans for their government policy, as I would hate to be judged on the Canadian government policies.

    To each their own.

That's terribly reasonable. I may reconsider my position on this.

I have not seen anyone say anything about hating America. People (and it's not just Canadians) are avoiding the US for many reasons right now, but it's not because we hate America or Americans.

^ I agree. Our propaganda is to lessen our dependence on American as they are unreliable and untrustworthy and not to give them our money.

In the long run, if they're unable to physically take over after weakening us with financial force, we're definitely going to hold a grudge. We have so much s*** up here you guys are going to be f*****.

But who knows maybe this war be short-lived. Perhaps if average Canadians are hit and they can't afford as much food maybe our obesity rate won't get as great as yours?

Love our Canadian friends and do agree that this is an unfortunate year for a red state tour.

The part about lessening dependence is spot on, but I’m hoping the n at the end of America is a typo. As mentioned a lot here and amt, 250 million of us had nothing to do with 47 winning. Canada can benefit from increased economic independence and finding new trading partners.

While here in America …we are screwed by our voters falling for his lies, and having to live and love his voters, Folks that don’t live here probably don’t get that difficulty.. We have it significantly worse. However, it’s very curious that someone or the group decided to reward red states with economically beneficial tour immediately after a horrendous life changing election, is getting a free pass from fans., but “Americans” are getting slammed (not in this quote but generally speaking).

    What are they?

Well, people are being detained and deported just for having personal opinions against Trump now, so why in the world would any Canadian feel safe going there, or be willing to financially contribute to a nation whose government is doing that? That's not fear mongering. It's happening. Just this past Easter weekend two families that my own sister knows personally were held for hours and then banned from the US for 5 years, literally because they had a negative opinion of Trump. It's real dude. Calling it fear mongering is just being in denial.
